Incredible power

The Asus ROG STRIX GAMING X299-XE Motherboard is packed with technology that will let you build an incredible gaming PC. With support for both liquid and fan cooling, Intel X-series processors and personalised overclocking, you can get the best out of your entire PC.

To make your components really stand out in your PC case, the X299-XE has RGB strip headers so you can unleash a world of lighting possibilities in any colour you want. And if you have other RGB components you can pair the lighting effects for a dramatic look.

Built for gaming

Don't just play your favourite games. Dominate them. With quad-GPU CrossFireX and SLI compatibility you can build your PC with four graphics cards – that's right, four. It's enough power to play any game at 4K settings, run VR games in mind-blowing realism and render graphics for 3D printing.

Enhance your gaming with sound that draws you into the game. With SupremeFX and Sonic Studio software you can completely immerse yourself in the game, and make sure you dodge every bullet that whistles past.

Impressive storage and RAM

With M.2 connections you'll enjoy super-fast data transfers and a reliable connection with up to four storage drives. And if you want to set up a backup drive, an array of RAID options will keep your data safe. As if that's not enough, the ROG STRIX Motherboard also supports Intel® Optane™ memory – the new technology that upgrades standard hard drive storage to SSD speeds.

Want more performance power? The STRIX Motherboard has eight slots for memory – so you can add up to a huge 128 GB of DDR4 RAM (which is larger than most high-end gaming PCs).

If anyone know from where I can buy it cheaper please let me know.

Thank you.
Board is EOL. Gaming II is the replacement for this.
Do you have anything in mind? It is better for similar price?
Unless I had a very specific usecase, I wouldn't be investing X299 platform right now as it is a dead end and offers poor value for money.

What were your plans for the system?
Video Editor and Photoshop, but I need really high specs for multiple tasks.

Many Thanks
You could just as well put together an AMD AM4 based system, either a 3900X or an 3950X, with a decent specification for not a lot of money.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Storage: Sabrent Rocket 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (two of these)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB OC Video Card
Case: Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: RIOTORO ENIGMA G2 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Total: £1448.59

That's a 12c/24t monster with 64GB of fast DDR4 RAM, and 2TB of very fast NVMe storage, with an excellent PSU, and a great motherboard.

Graphics wise I went with something that offers reasonable CUDA acceleration if you want/need it. However you can alsways upgrade of downgrade as you wish.
Wow, that is awesome.
Thank you very much !
I will go for it 100%
