Despite the crazy prices on GPUs currently this seems a good deal for this card. Pushes £1000 most other places

I bought my Strix last year for £700 and it came with Assassins Creed origins and destiny 2. Even at £700 its a rediculous price so I decided in Jan to start mining. It's almost paid for itself now.

No it hasn't.
I don't understand why this is Cold - where is it cheaper? .....and not using the time machine

Well I hope it all comes crashing down around your ears son...no doubt as a final insult people will be put their knackered cards on ebay and try to get another load of dosh for them...meantime the genuine pc builders will sit patiently waiting for normality to return...
Just think of all that lovely leccy you've burnt through while mining....😋
I hope that ebay force people to disclose whether the card has been used for mining on the item description...it would be unfair otherwise not to...

Nah buying used goods is always at the buyers discretion. If you want to save a few quid buying second hand, that's the chance you take.

I doubt many people would be able to tell the difference in the first place.
Well let's hope the market collapses for them...bitcoin mining has practically destroyed the home pc enthusiast world all for greed...well I'm a firm believer in what's comes around goes around...
Makes carbon bikes look good value...

Yup, that's what i did with mine back in 2011. 21 of them. Ragged them for 3 months, constantly running at 80degC and then ebay'd them for 20% more than i bought them.

It's a funny old world.
I love it how despite all the 'frustrated kid' cold votes, it sold out in minutes
They went from £900+ used on ebay 2 weeks ago to £650, Won't be long before all major retailers start dropping there prices back to what they used to be.

People have been saying that for the last year. Ain't gonna happen. As proven by this "deal" sold out in minutes.

I am a genuine PC builder. Just not one who moans about it. I built my machine to play games and it just so happens nvidia cards mine certain crypto algorithms amazing well. When it's not gaming it mines. Why wouldn't I? It's free money.
bitcoin mining is coming to an end and very soon will be made illegal. Ebay will be soon flooded with unwanted cards and for very cheap

Ok. You obviously don't trade crypto.

You can use nicehash which pays in btc and selects the most appropriate crypto algorithm for your cpu / gpu.

Yes, not sure how many people have looked at the price charts, but cryptos started crashing in Dec/Jan time and are still falling. Crossing the threshold where it is no longer worthwhile mining/risking further falls.
Bitcoin and other crypto currency miners should be shot on sight. Not only have they massively inflated the market for those who want to use the cards for what the where designed for, gaming, but the massive waste of power, all in search of magical fairy dust money. I can't wait until crypto currency trading becomes illegal, all these leeches will dump all their high spec cards, and cause a massive price crash in hardware prices.
It's not magical money it's real cold money sadly.
As if people buy graphics cards from Curry's/PCWorld! They're well known for high prices check out Scan or Overclockers for a better price

Yes I do and a single TI does not have the hash to generate the £700 roi in less than 3m.

It does if you reinvest back into crypto. Hence I said you obviously don't trade crypto. What coins do you have in your crypto portfolio?

This isn't correct. They crashed mid Jan and continued falling with the odd climb between falls until early March when their was a reversal. Bitcoin for example hit a low of $5k since Jan and its now at around $9k. The only people who are in the red are people who started trading in Dec / Jan. Nearly all coins are above their November 17 prices and Feb 18 prices.

Maybe the people that caused it to sell out in minutes DO buy from Currys? It's hardly rocket science. There likely wasn't a horde of penguins wanting to PUBG that went and bought it en masse.

Ripple was a mistake if you didn't get that before Nov.
I've got Stratis, Nano, Tron and NEO.

No, I started mining in Jan 2018. I didn't buy the card to mine I bought it to game on in November as I'm a gamer. I was trading crypto since June 17 and decided to join the mining game to get some free coins to trade. In Jan the card was gaining me $9 to $12 a day and this fell in Feb and even more so in March. So 3 months it's taken to pay for itself with the help of reinvesting into other coins and ICOs. If I'd have started mining in November it would have paid for my whole rig due to the insane climbs that happened mid Jan.

No one in here seems to understand you don't get a flat amount of money with crypto, prices fluctuate heavily. I mined dogecoin on the first week it was around for a few days as a joke and a month later it was worth £2600. That was using a 7950 for a couple days mining.
Still feels like there’s a blatant lack of concern for wasted resources here Feel free to post your foaming script kiddy replies in my compost heap
