Worth a try but I'll more or less be certain very very few will have them. I work at JL and the powerful machines like so are never stocked in store, call up customer services and they can check stores and reserve one for you though!

Two big problems with this machine:
1. It runs too hot
2. because of this fans are really loud almost 90% of the use time.
I couldn't get used with this and had to return mine few months ago...

I’ve orderded one, reviews I’ve watched on YouTube say it get no hotter than other similar gaming laptops and regarding the noisey fan when gaming most people would have a headset in so won’t be an issue.

Well thats my personal experience. Hope you will enjoy it then. Really good design and the screen is not bad.

Pretty sure this has a 120hz screen, not 144hz

The newer Scar models have 144hz

This model has 3 screen options, the actual one from JL is the 144hz IPS G-Sync

Had a look and you're right, it can come with a 144hz screen, but this particular laptop (with the part number of EE059T) has a 120hz screen. The same laptop is sold elsewhere all stating a 120hz screen.

JL have probably pulled the specs from the marketing blurb rather than the actual product specs. Happens a lot.

I’ve looked and the 120hz panels are TN (with Matt finish) where as the IPS are 144hz and gloss finish. JL clearly states IPS Gloss finish. Suppose I’ll find this tomorrow when I collect from store

That first link you’ve shown is the 144hz IPS panel version and the other 2 links 120hz panels.

Again though, it states 144hz in ASUS's marketing blurb which Overclockers have just copied into the description (no doubt where JL have gotten the 144hz from) If you look at the product spec info at the top of the Overclockers page you'll see it states 120hz.

This particular laptop has a 120hz screen. If it was the 144hz screen option, the part number would be different (as far as I know)

Tbh, it doesn't make a great deal of difference, 120 or 144hz, its still a great laptop at a great price and well worth a pop.

*I've edited my previous comments swapping SKU with part number as that's more accurate. Sorry for the confusion mate.

4 websites, 2 144hz and 2 120hz.

I’ll report back after 2pm when I collect it. Not sure how I will know though as I’m a bit of a PC virgin, I’ve not had a PC for over 10 years as I’ve used Mac’s

Type 'settings' in the search bar (bottom left of desktop) > click on 'Display' > click on 'Advanced Display Settings' (bottom of screen) It'll tell you there.

Genuinely curious to see what screen it has. If it's 144hz it's even more of a bargain than it already is!

After watching some YouTube reviews it says that TN screens have better grey to grey refresh rates than the IPS anyway.

Still the closessed price for the same laptopwas over £300 anywhere else so I suppose I’m not bothered either way.
