I found it slower than the much cheaper RT-AC88U with all my devices. (Speed test on iMac, iPhone XR, iPad Pro) admittedly non of them support Wi-fi 6 but unless you’ve got something which supports it you’re better off waiting till it’s more mature.

I can only agree with that. Ordered this model as an "upgrade" to an old Airport Extreme, but ended up with Wi-Fi speeds on the other side of the house that were three times as slow. This device is also not an officially approved Wi-Fi 6 router. I would stay clear, especially for that still eye watering price.

In response to Jace_Phoenix: Wi-Fi 6 is finalised and only one router in existence meets the requirements so far. This AX88U was also tested with an iPhone 11, which is a Wi-Fi 6 device, and results were still about 3x slower than the Wi-Fi 5 on my old Airport Extreme. I stick by my suggestion: buy something else.

edit: actually the radio chipset used in this router has already been approved. It uses the Broadcom BCM43684

I have this router, and with the latest Merlin Firmware performs admirably. Just disable that pesky 'Smart Connect'

In response to above....

What i mean is, it wasn't out when this router was released, it now has been ( see above )

Don't use Apple, as they are for the technologically uninformed, and there have been many issues with ios13 so i would look at that first as it probably has issues with HE Frames, however i do use an Intel AX200 Wifi 6 card in my laptop and my transfer speeds have at least doubled, and that was before i added a mesh node.

Seems the review sites also agree, so i would take a look at your configuration, or (with respect) get someone in who knows what they're doing?
