Ultra-Fast WiFi 6E Technology
Massive Capacity

WiFi 6E has up to seven additional high-speed 160 MHz channels*, enabling multi-gigabit speeds with stable and consistent connections. It dramatically increases network capacity while reducing congestion, delivering higher performance for every WiFi 6E device.

One-Tap Safe Browsing
The internet can contain inappropriate content, intrusive ads or other dangers and safety risks. ASUS Safe Browsing helps block undesirable content in one tap -- no extra apps required. Its lightweight DNS-based filtering won’t affect router performance. It can even filter explicit content from search engine results to protect your kids online.

Complete Security for Your Home Network
Alongside the latest WPA3 security protocol, the ASUS RT-AXE7800 also features AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro, with automatic, regularly updated security signatures to protect your devices and personal data from internet threats.

Parental Controls at Your Finger Tips
Gain insight into your kids’ online activity and customize settings for different age groups with RT-AXE7800’s robust parental controls – with no subscription fee. You can also flexibly schedule internet access with one click, or you can grant extra online time for your kids to reward their good behavior.

VPN Your Way
Enjoy secure and quick VPN access for streaming, gaming and other activities with the ASUS RT-AXE7800 router. Through both the ASUS Router app and the web interface, you can easily set up and manage your VPN connections, including OpenVPN and WireGuard to meet more of your VPN scenarios.

Make Free WiFi Secure with Instant Guard
When you are away from home, the ASUS Instant Guard mobile app gives you one-tap secure internet access via your RT-AXE7800 router, thanks to its encrypted VPN tunneling technology. Our newly upgraded app even lets you easily share this network connection with your family and friends through a URL link.

Price is good but I feel like this is a bait. Let me explain some points:

1: Yeah it's 6E but you actually need devices capable of 6E and even then it's only 6E for about 20 foot in line of sight.
2: If you actually care about better range an Eero Pro 6 2 pack is currently £188. Cheaper than this and it actually has proper tri band for 5Ghz (4x4) instead of this 6E stuff.
    3: No merlin firmware support.
4: The RT-AX86U Pro is currently £210.99 and yeah it's dual band but it has a much better broadcom chip that range should be better

What about 6 foot, going through a wall that 2.4 and 5ghz usually go through? (For 6E)

Can I use this on my plus net hub 2 , (same as BT hub 2) . There is a bridge setting in the admin screen .

3.7/5 is reasonable I guess - though at £200 it feels like a higher rating might be needed.

Wifi 6E sounds to be a bit clunky. Sensible to wait for 7 later this year?

Personally most excited by this part of the Wifi 7 feature (especially given 6E's short range):
"Wi-Fi 7 boasts multilink operation, allowing devices to connect on multiple bands simultaneously."

Looking at the other 6E routers available, it seems like low scores all round, except for the Linksys 6E. Although that is only reviews and most are Vine(?) sponsered

In yet to use good wireless on all the expensive routers I've tried and sent back, even the mesh ones. The only solution I found was to buy two 5G contracts and put one router on each side of the house. The reason I say this is because its 40 quid a month for two on three with unlimited. Where virgin wanted that from me to continue my old internet. The only way I would have been able to get cheaper was to leave and rejoin at a later date.

that's actually a really good workaround to stupidily priced ISP. Luckily Toob is only £25 for a 1gig fibre connection, but i would do this if that ever skyrocketed

Just bought this the other day for £216.49

Is the only option here to return the item and purchase it again at this price?

Bit of a pain to setup the router again. If i were to send this £199.99 one back as if it were the £216.49 one, would they know from product serial number etc? Would ASUS know in the event of a warranty issue?

Or, better still, if I just swap out the £216 one with this £199 one, would all but fine, or would a new setup need to be completed?

On a side note. A few days in and this router is excellent. I've not tried out the 6ghz band yet, but i'm getting great wireless speeds in comparison to the ISP Toob router. The app (and website login) has been brilliant. Lots of options and easy to use. Happy to answer any questions anyone has about this device (edited)

This is a no no, serial numbers would create a problem. Is it really worth the hassle for £16? (edited)
