1080p-1440p. Running a SFF PC NR200. especially if I wait for Sale etc
300ish is 6600xt, 6650xt or 6700 territory. 6700 is your best bet, but the powercolour variant of this card which was the cheapest seems to be oos most places.
You're probably better off with this card given you have a sff pc, this will have lowest TDP and power requirement. This is definitely a 1080p card, 1440p in older/less taxing games.
Not sure what space you get with the half a slot... (edited)
An older 2014- Nvidia card will perform better (in terms of power and usage) at playing back 4K HDR video than any AMD card, including the latest, especially if you will be using MPV or MadVR.
For a media PC, I recommend an old 900/1000 series GPU like the 960 or 1050. Due to them barely even kicking in, you'll be looking at very low power consumption. (edited)
Here a bit more expensive, but +2 games!
Overclockers do have the sapphire
Pulse for the same price though, but more expensive delivery
