    It *looks* to me like you get the stylus in the side of this too. Probably not amazing, but a nice inclusion if so. Take a look and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

    I don't think they bumped the price. They just ran out of stock briefly and it was being sold for 249 by someone else.

    I think they're going to be close, but you know with the Spin you get an additional 2 years of updates. Not sure about my comment on the stylus with this one, might be another factor. From personal ownership I can only vouch for the Spin.

    I've got another flip coming as a present for someone after the first one didnt make it past couriers. I might get a spin for the missus to hedge my bets :-)

    Lenovo deal expired. I own the Spin already. Therefore I'd buy the ASUS? Jokes aside, I'm biased as I do have the Spin, but I think based on the extra 2 years of updates for the same price and likely similar in other areas, I'd take the Spin. I do think the ASUS looks decent too though.

    The Lenovo is good, just seems heavy when you compare to what Acer have done with the Spin 311. You do get more in terms of ports/connectivity built in and it is a well built machine. Plus you saved a tenner, but less support life.

    I'm trying to decide between the Asus Flip and the Acer Spin as a gift for my other half. Am I right in thinking the Asus doesn't have glass covering the screen? I've googled and watched videos which appear to show matte but surely the touch operation wouldn't be very nice on a matte screen?? The deal pic looks like there is glass. Sorry to ask.

    Check some YouTube videos and get more of a feel for them (just make sure it's the same version of the model you're looking at here). They are all good machines, just some slight different pros and cons.

    The stylus is not included, despite what it says in the description. I purchased this same model a few months ago, one of the reasons being I wanted to test it as an electronic notepad. It looks like it has a stylus, but this is blanked off.

    Further investigation revealed that the stylus as a spare part is no longer available and it might be that the stylus model uses a different screen (with a digitiser?), as I have tried a variety of stylii and none of them have worked.

    Contacted Amazon to complain and they gave me some money back, I kept the Chromebook as it is great (for the money) in every other respect.

    Amazon goes out of stock. It might come back as it has before. Theres an Amazon refurbished for 173.

    The ASUS in this deal thread has 64GB storage compared to 32GB in the Lidl one. Fundamentals of the processor, RAM and screen are the same. The Lidl one says it comes with the stylus (as the Amazon one claims to but sounds like it doesn't) - either way that won't be a game changer. Both have updates through to June 2026. If I was confident I could get hold of the Lidl version I'd personally hold out for that, but I guess there's some risk in fighting your way through to one? Either way I think the Acer Spin 311 with the MT8183 processor and 2 further years of update life is still tough compeition for either at £199.99 - hotukdeals.com/dea…152

    The 214 maybe has the stylus which the 234 doesnt? I've just got the flip 234 and the spin. Could've saved £100 by getting two 214 at lidl. As morgie says though, no certainty you'll get one after being trampled in the rush :-)

    Well the Flip is supposed to be robust. It looks like it could take more knocks than a Spin but I've had to send mine back. It rarely switches back to keyboard mode from tablet. Tested it on the spin and it does it every time. Pretty fundamental fault.
