anyone can recommend ?
Get Legion 5p instead
Hardware unboxed reviewed the 2060 version and reported really poor screen performance and bad thermals/noise compared to a HP equivalent. Price is good, but seems like it's a poorly engineered model sadly

Just upgrade the ram and it’s a great deal. Battery isn’t great but still very good deal
I chose to pay the premium and get the Legion 5P from Curry's instead. These TUF laptops get slated really badly on YouTube.

Nice, how are you finding it? Mines due to be delivered today. Already bought a 500GB SSD and another stick of 8GB RAM. First gaming laptop I've ever bought, usually always built a desktop but need portability badly. These Legion 5P laptops seem to get great reviews.
If it wasent for the poor thermals all tuf models seem to suffer from these would be a good deal. You can undervolt but not on this one or the latest 10th gen intels.

I done exactly the same, got a crucial P2 500gb nvme ssd and DDR4 3200 from crucial. I find it great. The fans ramp up less than my old asus tuf 505dt and the screen is far clearer. I'm not regretting it, nearly bought the A15 with the 2060 when it was £899 on currys ebay. So pleased I didnt as rgb keyboards are not everything.

Hi I bought it through blue light card vouchers so I think it was around £930 in the end. Expensive but rather get something decent that will last years than buyers remorse for the sake of £100.

Great, glad you ate enjoying it. I have to say after watching the videos about the A15 TUF I can definitely relate to what you're saying. Some of the design decisions around cooling seem questionable at best. Also I much prefer the understated look or the Legion 5P compared to the rather tacky (imo) RGB flashing everywhere type dealio.

The asus is also heavier but feels less well built, cheap plastic feel if you know what I mean. Also the 5p has a 115w rtx 2060 not an 80w on the 5i version.

That's great, haven't got my hands on it yet, DPD delivering in two hours, very excited! Am I right in saying after the SSD is in and RAM it doesn't really need anything else?

Nah nothing else, I hope you bought an m.2 nvme as it does not take a full size ssd unlike the intel version.

I bought the Kingston m.2 NVME 500GB that recently got hot on here. Was going to punt for the 1TB but can't see me needing it and I've already spent enough.
Can someone please recommend me a gaming laptop for about £900 - £1200. Many thanks 🙏

Thanks rhun, I just had a look at it, it has 8gb RAM, seems like I need one with 16GB RAM, do you think the ram is expandable to 16gb on this laptop or any others? Thanks

Hi Ali,
I bought an 8GB stick directly from Corsair for £30 so I wouldn't let that put you off. You can expand the RAM no problem.

Thanks a lot guys! I've just ordered the Legion 5P as well.

Just wondering which 8Gb ram did you guys get for upgrade please?

Also, an additional SSD? Which one would fit?

If I want to extend to 2 monitors, do I use HDMI and USB-C (to HDMI) please?

Many thanks!!

Hi I bought my 8GB RAM stick directly from Corsair, you put your laptop model in and it shows you what is compatible. I bought the NVME M.2 SSD from amazon, it recently went very hot on here, 500gb for 40 odd quid. Can't go wrong. Can't help with your last question as I don't use mine with external monitors.
