Unfortunately, these tests don't include simply opening and closing the lid, because the hinges in these will go within a year and opening/closing the lid will cause the bezel around the screen to crack open as it looks to be identical to earlier TUF models.

ASUS will refuse to fix it as well, claiming it's "cosmetic" or "user induced" damage, despite the fact the cause is a thin piece of metal snapping inside the bezel, causing all of the pressure to be placed on the tiny plastic clips holding the casing together

Happened on my FX504 and the FX505 was creaking near the hinge with only a couple months use.

Here's the metal used.

RTX 2060 version availble on there for £100 more with a 144hz panel, would be worth the extra £100 or the 10-15% performance gain.

123 hours of video playback? Surely that’s a typo
Isn't that just rrp?

haha should be 12.3 hours of video playback
Is that the new A15?
For that price and considering the recent Lenovo deals I’d expect minimum GTX2060 but more so a 2070...

it's available on Amazon, people might have vouchers to use and might prefer Amazon instead. I just wanted to put the item out there.

Thanks. I am one of those people by the looks it dropped by a £100 from what I last saw, at least on amazon. I'm digging the specs but not sold on this Asus model, I think I'll wait for other brands to drop their version later on this month.

PCGamer review of new MSI laptops.

Not the best review unfortunately.

MSI GF65 THIN 9SEXR

Processor - Intel Core i7 9750H
GPU - Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060
Memory - 1x8GB DDR4
Memory speed - 2,666MHz
Screen size - 15.6-inch
Resolution - 1920 x 1080
Refresh rate - 120Hz
Storage - 256GB NVMe SSD
Price - £999

Less RAM, smaller Storage, weaker CPU. 2060's performance is very similar to 1660ti in most benchmarks, and let's be honest; Ray Tracing on 2060 is mostly useless, unless you're happy with inferior framerate. They did make some sacrifices to get it down to £1k. Is the machine in this deal worth £200 more? IMO it is, at least in terms of specs, hard to say if it lasts longer in terms of built quality.

Can’t have a deal if the item’s not in stock though

Why gpu is still from nvidia?! Why not radeon rx 5600m/5700m??? The should definitely finish mixed amd/radeon with intel/nvidia

Amd have only just managed to get a decent mobile CPU for the first time in their history, decent dedicated mobile GPUs are still some way off.
All the A15’s I have seen have a Panda 144hz screen it’s a pretty bad panel......

Because AMD make average gpus with terrible drivers.
5600m or 2060 would be ideal
I think it's probably best to wait for something with a Ryzen 9 4900HS.

Why? Looking at performance there dosnt seem much difference between the two? Unless theres better cooling? I dont know much about these new cpus yet.

Thought the 4900H is faster than the HS.
Can anyone explain the difference,
I know that
Ryzen 4900H is 45w and HS is 35w. Is the HS slimmer and for thinner laptops?

It's the same tech argument that's always made, the new latest and greatest is just around the corner so when they're at market the prices of old stuff will drop. That coupled with if you're willing to shell out a premium for top tier performance in a mobile package you're probably after top tier which this won't be *very* shortly. The gains alone though of 5-10% mean more scope for under clocking and volting if you want performance when you're plugged in and as long as possible battery life on the go.

Yea, more ultrabook than balls to the wall gaming but I suspect stuff with the HS will be comparable priced with better performance than this. I suspect the the H stuff will be a lot like this but way more expensive.
