This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

REFURBISHED laptop with 1 year warranty.

Use code PARTY at checkout. Also has a 16 GB RAM version for 40 pounds more (not worth it IMHO): ebay.co.uk/itm…b95

Storage is 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD.

The specs are pretty darn good. This model has a bad reputation for thermal throttling, but comments on the Youtube videos I saw mention a BIOS update fixes that, and then it's a great laptop. It does however appear to have only 1 heatpipe that is shared between the processor and GPU, while most gaming laptops have 3 or 4 heatpipes, so don't expect very good cooling from this model. I suggest doing your own research.

For a similar (new) laptop with better thermal management and a 3-year warranty (cons: 60 Hz IPS screen and 8 GB RAM capacity), consider: ebuyer.com/883…als

Can an owner comment on screen quality?

I have an FX503 with TN screen, and it's one of the worst I've ever seen. It may have fast response times, but colour, contrast and viewing angles come straight out of 2006. Forget anything but gaming on this panel.

I didn't find any reviews that tested the FX504's 120 Hz TN panel (their samples had the 60 Hz panel only), but according to one review that mentioned its specs, it's supposed to have 96% NTSC (vs. 48% NTSC for the 60 Hz version of the panel). Is your TN screen also 120 Hz?

But it's not the same laptop & not the same panel so not really sure thats a relevant comment, not all TN screens are bad/good/indifferent
This has over heating issues - spec looks great but stay away buyers

I never said it was the same panel Rich44, just pointing out that some TN panels on Asus gaming machines are truly awful. I'm asking if there is a user out there which can verify the panel quality. It would be really nice if an owner could also list the part number of there panel, (which can be found by using HWinfo.)

On a serious note, if you always game with the laptop in the same position, hooked up to a TV, investing in some cheap local cooling could make this laptop a good deal.
