Heat!
Come on retailers, I need this at £500 and I missed the Very deal. I hope to get it for that price tomorrow.

BTW I'm still angry at AO for the Nintendo Labo cancellations so I hope to buy it elsewhere

Heat added as it is the best price since the Very deal.

That would be good but it may be a little bit too optimistic. Hope you get it though!
Still haven't bought one yet. Having seen the various brands in the flesh it't this or the Asus ROG Strix G531GT. Same GPU but a better processor and much nicer case (think the screen is the same). Need the price on that to drop to £600 though and I doubt that's going to happen. This for £550 is what I will get if nothing better tomorrow AM.
How good are these laptops if one is creating power point presentations and working on excel macros, etc.

Yes it got a second slot.
I've had this for a day now. Added an SSD and have another stick of RAM on the way. Had no issues so far.
Are the RAM and Ssd easily upgradeable ?

When you say you added a SSD, do you mean you replaced the 256GB with a larger one, or there is there a second slot space for an additional ssd/m.2?
I don't sorry. Not with it at the moment to check.

Won't be an Intel, that's for sure!

Any ssd or mechanical drive can go in the second slot. There are also 2 dimm slots so get an extra 8gb ram.
I have had one of these for a few months after selling my 505DY that had an rx560x gpu. This machine has a better keyboard and a gtx 1650, not a great card but very capable. Yes it can play most games on medium to high setting but recent titles more like medium albeit at 1080p. For £550 this is a great deal as I paid £630 in september

So in theory I could add a large HDD Drive as well? Not super technical so not sure

Yes, you need to buy some phone opening tools to open the case but yeah its as simple as that.

Open it up and put an ssd in and close it, start windows and go to the control panel to add the new drive and format. Youtube videos on win10 be able to help show you how to setup a new drive.

Will take you a max of 30 mins from opening to closing the laptop and setting it up

I have a 1tb m2 ssd and a 1tb mechanical hdd in mine, albeit the 17" version. It's really easy to fit the parts. See here laptopmedia.com/hig…ns/

The 17" version only has a 60hz screen... grr wanted one but not a 60hz. Think the laybout is exactly the same.
I've had a powerful laptop for the past few years, but I've found that the screen quality tends to suffer. Yes it's technically 1080p, but it's usually very matt and with poor viewing angles/colour reproduction.

Anyone got one of these to speak more about the screen quality?
How good is the IPS display on this?

Do they mean lag in terms of the game lagging because the computer doesn't perform well enough or Internet lag where the Internet speed is poor? You need to know which because replacing a PC won't fix Internet lag, you need a better connection for that or if it's broken you need it fixing

Test your Internet speed with a speed test website.

Memory is rather lacking for a gaming laptop sadly...
Realistically I think I’d need around 1tb of data...
Great laptop, cool most of the time, poor drivers support from Asus. A couple drivers from their website, won't be able to be installed.
I had my motherboard broken after 3 months and got it repaired in a week time.

This is an ips 120hz screen with reasonably decent colour reproduction with viewing angles of 178h 178v. Response times are about 5ms.

Memory and hd space you should say.

Extra ssd can be had cheap and so can an extra 8gb ram.

Its not really lacking and is fine as is but the extra is nice.

I've just checked on this for you now. At present we use a 3rd party courier to deliver to Northern Ireland for all our appliances and we want to ensure that we can provide the same level of service on all products. At this point we cannot do that with things like Laptops and ipads etc. However, it is something we are working on to improve for the future.

You're a star. I was looking at Currys and Amazon but I will check Hughes out.

Gonna hold back until tomorrow to see if anything better appears.
