Hot if you ask me
The price, not the laptop

Haha good one
Definitely a misprice, can’t see anything with similar specs for that price
Second time I've seen the RTX 2060 laptops coming in around this price, very well balanced spec, 120hz screen, 16gb dual channel ram, big enough SSD, nothing over powered, nothing bottlenecking, well spec'd Asus 10/10.

If they did a GTX 1660ti version for £100 less that would really be a winner (since the mobile 1660ti performs dam near on par with the 2060 in real world tests) - obviously you'd lose the ray tracing and AI side of the GPU but I think that's very much underpowered on the 2060 and underutilized in general!

Heat added, good spot!
Considering we've seen 1660ti laptops for low £700's and the 2060 adds less than £100 retail as an option on configurable laptops, I'd say this is a good price, but they could do better!

I think in general, gaming laptop have been very overpriced in the UK for just over 12 months now, while desktops had gotten cheaper. It's about time prices started sliding down!
This is not a misprice. Good price though.

Is it supposed to be black Friday weekend then? Hardly any really good laptop deals apart from that Acer helios one.

I think they are having trouble shifting them at their rrps. More competition in the gaming laptop market these days.
It was 50 euro cheaper plus 1tb hdd at amazon. es three months ago. I bought it and tried this. It has a little cpu bottleneck problem. But at this price a its agood deal

Oh right the yank one is earlier then. That's confusing.
Screens on these are awful. Dim and very washed out.

Not heard this, disappointing for 900 quid then

True though the recent circa £700 deals for 1660ti's have been with Very. You need to open a credit account with them to get it and my credit score is all over the place as it is

For the specs and security with Amazon, nothing else on the market comes close to this price imo
2060 bottlenecked by that cpu too.
I actually bought this from amazon treasure truck on Thursday. It was £899 with a free RoG Pugio mouse thrown in so doubt its a misprint but probably a time limited offer

How've you found it so far mate? I missed the TT deal but still umming and ahhing about getting this

Same core components throughout the range. Ok if you’re buying the £550 1650 model, but not great if you’re dropping close to a grand.

Other than basic setup I’ve not really had time to mess around with it much yet. My first laptop with an SSD so boot times (to me) are great (coming from a 2nd gen i7 XPS). Took a while to work out how to stop the keyboard lights from cycling through colours. normal software seems to run fine (office, chrome etc). Not had a chance to launch/play any games yet
hot! Cracking spec for the price. I would have had this, but I am on lookout for a decent 17" it seems the budget gaming laptops are the best spec for the money at the moment. If you don't mind the weight. I have been keeping my eye on the HP Pavilion Gaming 17"
this TUF FX range of laptops is garbage. I had one that broke at the hinge after a few months and ASUS refuse to fix it.

That's the good thing about amazon, they usually will cover you in first 12 months

I guess. I got mine from Very who are useless.
Costco is selling a ASUS ROG Strix G laptop with a 15.6" 120Hz FHD Display, i5 9th Gen CPU, GTX 1660Ti and 1TB SSD for £889. (with 2 year costco warranty)
Which of these 2 laptops is the better pick?
OR
Are none of them that fantastic and I should wait for Black Friday?
I am not in any hurry at all to get a laptop.

Both good options. Though this one has a better GPU, the CPU bottlenecks it.

The ROG Strix performance will probably be a little better funnily enough, despite a weaker GPU. It won't be better by a huge margin though, we're talking 5-10fps tops depending on the game.

The 1tb SSD on that is a great addition, though I believe it's only 8gb ram. This one on the other hand is 16gb ram.

I went with this deal for the ram, GPU and I just like the look of it. Also security with Amazon. But that ROG Strix is also a great deal and would certainly serve you well

Its such a pity that I (and others) waited for black Friday on this laptop. This was a great price and shot up on black Friday after being this price for over a week. Thanks Amazon!

No sign of the price dropping since either

Gutted I waited on black Friday morning but everyone felt it might drop again.

Hopefully something similar will come along for sub 900 or so.

Yeah was ridiculous tbh, who puts the price up on Black Friday?!

I'm a month in with this laptop now and would still recommend it. Great performance, even on demanding games like Metro Exodus. I also successfully installed an extra 1TB SSD for more storage with no issues.

I'm sure something will come up though, January sales maybe?

@LagunaLoire thats great to hear and also lovely to hear from a person who's actually using it daily. Makes me want it more

@murat_Kaya thanks so much for the link. I'm very tempted. Only thing stopping me is we have 400 pounds in amazon vouchers here and you can only use them on amazon uk apparently
