Ok you might call me a bit of a OCUK fanboy - but this deal is crazy. It's on their Today Only so it will finish tomorrow morning!

For £999.95 you get a gaming laptop, Endgame Gear mouse, Xbox controller, Free Call of Duty , Free Regions of Ruin and Free Meeple Station game - this is mental! Seems like a great deal for someone who's looking to get into gaming or is looking for a secondary/portable gaming station

Same. Good laptop but trying to scope an intel laptop for a comparable price. The r7-3750h is a bit of a bottleneck.
Seems like a good price, how much could you sell the extras for roughly? Not required
Not sure if you can sell the game codes - but controller + mouse - probably £50-£60

Are you serious? Passmark seems to put this CPU above 7700K HQ. Which seems ample when paired with a 2060 which is a midrange card after all.

Is it a full fat 2060 in this or a paired down mobile version?
Impressive for the money. Nice add-ons as well.

People learned a word bottleneck and often use it without any idea what they are talking about. It just sounds like they do.

It really does bottleneck the GPU. Fairly often whilst gaming, the CPU utilisation maxes out at 100% and the GPU utilisation is fairly low. Check Jarrod's tech on youtube. Benchmarks with 8750h and 9750h CPUs produce higher FPS results than the r7 3750h with the same GPU and dual channel RAM.

Also. I've worked in IT for 8 years now and am currently a datacenter analyst

Here's a pic of the armoury crate whilst idling. The CPU utilisation is high even whilst not under load.

Check the utilisation in armoury crate. Comparable intel laptops with an 8750h or a 9750h yield much higher FPS in games.

RDR2 average fps is under 30 on high on this laptop. HP Omen with identical specs other than the CPU (9750h) benchmarks at 42 fps.

There are a lot of CPU hungry games out there. Lot of strategy games especially and assassins creed odyssey is very CPU hungry.

The 7700HQ isn't exactly an up to date mobile processor.

Full fat. Isn't a max Q.
Thanks ordered for the controller will throw away the rest
Hello Guys, i got this laptop on Black friday deal with Asus gaming mouse for 899 from Amazon, laptop is very good, i Dont think there is game That cant be played at least on medium settings(no matter what its a less than 1000pound laptop) the fans are gonna be a loud on turbo Mode but its gonna keep the laptop cool, i Play destiny 2 on performance Mode full settings and it heats up In an uxeptable lvl. Games like Dota, lol and stuff like That are very easy for the laptop. The keyboard is uxeptable from noise point. Mouse pad not and the Best but i m not realy using it That often so consider That for you That you use it. 500 gb sd after update you are left with about 380gb its OK. Speakers have a good quality. I Dont realy use the lights on keyboard as even In the dark you get to see everything clearly (i m not wearning glasses (for the moment 😋)) battery life for normal use its about 2 hours for me.. Expect a heavy charger btw 😋 maybe the same weight as laptop (not realy but its huge 😋) ehhh what els.. More or less thats my experience until now guys.. 899 was an OK Price for me.
The CPU does bottleneck the GPU on some games and when it does it's only around 5-8% drop, max. Which is obviously not ideal but for the price it is still a great deal imo. I got this for £899 with the Asus mouse too, which I sold for £40 and also received a 10% discount from Amazon because my spacebar didn't light up, which I now think it's not supposed to although it still looks kind of odd. But all in all not a bad laptop for £770.

Agreed. There is a bottleneck but if you put an intel CPU in you're looking at 10% more FPS tops. While the numbers will look better, in moment-to-moment gameplay it's unlikely you'd even notice. Every comparable intel laptop I've seen is at least £200 more than this - for the price I feel this laptop is a great deal

All the laptop 2060 are in effect paired down, as the clock speed is dramatically reduced. Laptop 2060 performs within a few percent of a laptop 1660ti, there isn't a clear gap like there is in the desktop parts

However as this laptop has the Ryzen CPU expect it to perform around the same as a laptop with a 1060, as it will bottleneck hard
