could you use the £50 credit code with this?
I assume so? It was account specific so didn’t apply for me unf
Looks a solid buy but personally would never blind buy a gaming laptop, learnt from experience that a lot of them have terrible feeling trackpads & keyboards.
Out of interest how quiet would this laptop be? Would there be a noisy gfx fan?

Agree, check reviews. Specs alone do not give the full picture. Unfortunately at this end of the price scale gaming laptops often suffer serious heat issues from cheap cooling solutions.

I have no idea about this model.

Serious as in always running slow or burning out?

As in basically useless for gaming as it overheats and thermal throttles.
I've got the FX505DT which has a GTX 1650 (and was cheaper) - otherwise specs are mostly (exactly?) the same.

Very well built.
Fan noise, there are 3 profiles you can choose silent/performance/turbo - I mostly leave it on performance, never bothered me when gaming. Turbo is quite noisy, as expected.
No heat/throttling issues after some extensive testing. (It's not like the FX504s)
Good reviews on YouTube
Presumably single channel RAM. Would be good to make it dual channel for maximum CPU performance.

Where do you get this? Never ordered from very before, I'd be a new customer.
This is too expensive now.

The FX505DT should be what you’re looking for as a’basic’ gaming laptop.

The 560x isn’t a very good gfx card and is hugely inferior to the 1650.

It is this code PAQ96
Mine arrived this morning. Seems pretty good so far, although would have liked more than 256GB
What do you think of this as a uni laptop? Similar priced non gaming laptops dont have specs anywhere near this.

It would be absolutely fine as a uni laptop

But I've heard people say the fans are loud as it's a budget gaming laptop? But I guess I am not going to be gaming.

This or the acer aspire 5? The acer is from currys on for 399. I got it yesterday, mouse pad is terrible.
Somebody said in an earlier post that there’s 3 fan profiles on the laptop, one of which is silent running
