This is one of the particular models known for thermal throttling and hard TDP limits on enforced in the BIOS. As a whole it’s a good price but the issues outweigh the overall package and you’ll never get the full performance. Probably ok for casual gaming as the GPU is still better than any integrated but bear this in mind. Also the GTX 1650 and 1660 laptops are starting to land so these Pascal based ones are expected to fall in price.

it will game alright imo. its not going to play max settings on modern games. but i feels its nice laptop for the price. decent with the ssd n 1050.

type in google. "can u run it." n u can tell the website what hardware it is n then u can look up most games their to see if n how well that laptop will run the games u want to play.

i repaired laptops for over 10 years. asus one of my fav brands too.....
For me, the lowest GPU I'd go for is the 1060 3GB. Even if you have to forgo the SSD or have a worse CPU, (i5-7300.)

You can always upgrade the RAM, SSD and even screen. The GPU on the other hand is not upgradable. As I paid £609 for my FX503 a year ago, (1060 3GB, i5-7300, 128 SSD + 1TB HDD,) I think you can find a 1060 for £650 sooner or later.
yh i agree. 1060 where possiable.l n def if can find for sub 650. but a 1050 is still alot better then my laptop gpu n that does the job ok.

Another vote for 1060, mine (which is now a good few years old) was £750 and plays GTA 5 fine
GTX 1650 is coming very soon as well, and the new generation will drive down prices of the old gen.
Its a FUll HD screen so if you want to play games on it the graphics card is more than suitable, especially for this price. It will have no problems with Football manager.

Does Football Manager even need a GPU these days not mocking, I just remember this being the benchmark of whether a laptop is good back in the day (though I have zero interest in it) and always thought it was CPU bound.

Probably not in the 2D mode but I am pre-empting the question as the question is asked more often than not

If this had the modem card you guys were looking for wouldn't it be a lot more expensive at this spec ?

yh with a 1060 it would be more. 10 series (one in this laptop) is newest currently available. than each serires has its own power as such. 1050 being one of the lowest of this generation, then goes up to 1060,1070,1080 each jump offers quite abit more perforce but also more cost. £550 for a 1050 is pretty good imo. but if u see a 1060 for less then 650 that would be a better option usually. the next serires is coming out soon, 16, n usually when this happens the previous gens drop on price abit. laptops are usually very much, what u pay for is what u get. This out performs my laptop on pretty much every aspect, its cheaper than mine was (its cpl years old now) n mine does gaming just fine for me, photoshop and auto cad work fine. if i was in market, with this budget, id be likely buying this. atleast using it as a minimum basline as such.
Thanks Marc appreciate that
Just looked at specs and the screen is actually a Tu not an ips. Asus called it ips-level bus is just a slight wider angle and standard Tu screen with 60htz and only 45% ntsc colour range. Naughty marketing
