Exactly - which consumer motherboard has a PCI-E 4x slot? Of course you can use a 16x slot, but those are usually occupied by the GPU.

And I guess you need PCI-E v2 to get the full speed?

Thanks for the useless info. If you want to be relevant, tell us which competitor sells this component for the same price or less, or don't bother posting anything at all.

A lot of M/B's have come with multiple 16x slots for a couple of years now, so a lot of people would be fine.

I only got one spare pci-e on my mobo and I want a sound card, a PCI-E SSD plus this guy. Why cant they build them all in one card?

Correct me if I'm wrong is this most use to people with high end SSD drives as many traditional HDD only support 3gb/s ?

As I said SHAME ABOUT THE £3.99 P&P

indeed. u need a SATA 6GB/S hard drive or SSD to make full use of the SATA 6GB/S ports.
SATA 6GB/S HDD's are just as quick in SATA 3GB/S ports so there is no point in buying this unless u have a fast SSD :)!

this board has a 4X slot. the orange one near the top.

most boards now have a full length x16 slot that runs at 4X bandwidth. they would be just fine for this card :)!
