Of course nothing less than full HD is acceptable for browsing the web and reading emails! Sheesh!

Okay I am going to be arsy again. Why waste your time watching 1080 rips on a 15 inch screen?

33.33% more for the upgraded processor? Hmmm, I'll leave that up to you.

Nice one, I'll take some time to look at it.

Only 1366x768 resolution though. Should probably put that in the title, as not being full HD will put a lot of people off.

That has Resolution Size of 1600 x 900

Any better options out there for around this price? (I’m not bothered about the screen resolution) or is it best to wait to see what Black Friday brings?

I hate those 1366x768 screens. When you get full HD on a phone then look at this it looks awful (in my opinion)

No need to get arsy, and for stuff like that agreed, but if someone is going to be watching full HD tv shows or films or YouTube, etc, then it could well be an issue for them. I do watch mainly 1080p rips so for me it absolutely would be an issue.

For anything else it should be fine.

That's a really old i3 with pants graphics

On that basis a phone screen never be any more densely populated than 320 x 240. But if you can’t appreciate a higher res screen then you need to be going and getting your eyes tested.

Sorry were you trying to be clever or funny there (failing at both obviously). I wasn't expecting it actually, but given that we are seeing the start of the black friday deals coming through, peoples expectations tend to rise. Was simply saying it should probably be added to the title, as not everyone will go and check the full spec (even though they should, granted).

Now, is that better, or do you have some other sarky childish comment to throw in?

To be fair, it would help if you said what spec you had bought before, and what part of what it does that you aren't happy with. Everyone has different preferences, so really just need to spec up as best you can to suit yours, but we would need to know what that was.

One thing i would suggest is possibly not wasting money on buying Office, when your child may well be able to get it at student rates from college. If so, they are hugely cheaper.

On Argos' eBay store for £329 you can get a Acer Aspire with i3 7th gen processor, 8gb ram and 256gb SSD. Only poor thing is the screen (not full HD) but that's the same as being offered here, so IMO it's better value. The SSD will be much faster than the HDD.

Comes with 12 months Argos warranty

I'd say in this current inflated market its a good price..

Although there are those that'll say 'put an SSD in it' out of habit

What was the laptop you bought from Tesco?

Could anyone advise me please? Looking for a laptop for hubby mainly for storing & listening to music, storing films and photos, occasional spreadsheets and general use. Looking at 1tb storage as transferring music from an external drive. Is the Samsung350e7c good? But have only seen secondhand one on Amazon. Would be grateful. Thanks

Also looking for a Laptop...mainly for photoshop cropping images, and general office stuff, etc...budget around £300
if someone can point me in the right direction Thanks

Might as well spend £80 more for one with an SSD already included.

Can I ask a stupid question?
I have a DELL LATITUDE D630 ( TEMPORARY, I KNOW ITS CRRAP AND SLOW)
Why is it when i download a full HD movie, it looks like FULL HD even though it might not be HD at all??
Does this make sense?
