I have not brought a computer/laptop in a long time but I need to get my daughter one for Homework and light games. I have a ASUS router which is fantastic so going for same brand seemed good deal.

Reduced from £450 to £350 but add another 10% off using code WIN10 this weekend only. So £315.

You can also get 3 Avios - £1 if you go through Avios store (945 Avios worth minimum of £10 if you redeem Avios). Avios rewards closes on 19th September but all transactions and points will move to BA rewsrds automatically.

Windows 10Intel® Pentium® N500 processor
RAM: 4 GB
Storage: 256 GB SSD
Battery life: Up to 4 hours

thats cool. But i also used a gift voucher from my employers benefits provider which saved me extra 8%. So 8% plus the Avios works out better for me

For this price..can't really complain
Poor resolution and only 4GB ram, seen better deals.
The only positive is the SSD but they have dropped in price so not worth more than £40 as an upgrade
That "up to 4 hour" battery life is a bit off-putting, usually you get about half the quoted time - the 256GB SSD is great though.

4Gb is fine for homework and light games. Its only likely to be a problem if you are into having zillions of browser tabs open and/or running VMs or multiple heavy apps - which is not a requirement here. I would agree that 1600x900 rather than 1366x768 is probably optimum for a 14" screen at this level if you can find one for the same price with a 256GB SSd - that bit is tasty.

I like Asus kit.
I am also looking for friends daughter for school work and I would rather go for Acer Aspire 3 i3 15.6”. Much better spec and would be £360 with WIN10

haha. Yeah well i have not posted that story for many a year. it was only …haha. Yeah well i have not posted that story for many a year. it was only buying a new laptop today that reminded me of it. i think that counts as over it. it would seem they have not improved much since i forgot about themuk.trustpilot.com/review/acer-laptops.co.uk

As it happens I'm not a fan of Acer either; their machines always seem a little bit too much 'built to a price', and lacking in quality - both actual and perceived. I know that you can go too much the other way (MacBook Air, anyone?) but Acer seem a bit 'cheap' to me, too.

And also read trustpilot for any of the laptop manufacturers and they get slated. You would never buy one or have a broadband connection if you obeyed Trustpilot

Better off going for the lenovo on Amazon with a i3 7 gen processor with the intel 620 going for £329 than this with a pentium processor

Bounty bear, this site is meant to be about consumers sharing deals and experiences, and I for one glad u shared the above as no one should ever be put through that, u have lost time money energy and sanity to another large faceless Corp even though none of it is your fault and due to your experience I won’t be buying from them. So please do keep copy and paste in fact i ll do the same with your story above. Well done for sharing
