Looks good. Can l ask is it true or false that a 15.6 inch laptop has a narrower keyboard relative to a 14 inch one, due to the number pad being squeezed in on the side. I don't need a number pad but want a full sized keyboard. Is 14 inch going to be better? Also which make has greater feedback and travel on the keyboard?

All completely depends on the laptops in question I'm afraid.

Yeh it can do but honestly I dont think it makes it much harder to type on.
I use a lenovo e570 provided by my company which has a numpad too and yet the keys are still well spaced.

In terms of good keyboards it's not as simple as looking at the make. One brand can have varying keyboard quality from laptop to laptop.

I like Dave Lee's YouTube vids as his reviews are pretty user focused. Worth a look but best thing is always going to be checking them out first hand at a store if possible.
Well it includes an IPS screen so they fixed the only thing that was really wrong with this laptop.
How does it compare to the Dell 255 G7 also on Box?

The important difference is that one doesn't have an IPS screen.

No it's not, The Lenovo 530s is more premium, it's an older model. Does have backlit keyboard, solid full metal casing and a high quality display, longer battery life.
Although, it's an 8th Gen Intel, still fast and capable. Ryzen can manage graphics better though, if you like games.

I believe the Lenovo is better. Has fingerprint scanner and backlit keyboard, the battery is considerably better. The Ryzen processor is newer and probably better for games, in term of performance, I think the intel one is better. The Lenovo is more premium built too.

To be honest, I think this will change in the next year or two. The 4000 series mobile processors have impressed a lot of people and the the 5000 series is set to be another decent improvement. By the time it comes to selling on an old AMD laptop, the perception of mobile AMD will be much better.

I'm torn between the two. Please can someone advise which is the better option? It will mainly be kept at home for my children to do school work on. Thank you!
Probably the Lenovo. Slightly better performance fro the Intel CPU. But they are very similar machines. Check the ports meet your needs, decide which one looks nicer, is weight important, do you want a fingerprint reader, is battery life important, do you want to save £20 for something else?

Thanks. I've gone for the Lenovo 🏻
You're welcome, I'm sure you'll be happy with it!
Which Lenovo was it?

You've done the right thing. Apart from the processor, Lenovo is also better built, has backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner and a considerably better battery.

I wouldn't have the HP.
Plastic built quality and the SVA (TN) display on it, is awful and viewing angle is poor.

Thanks for posting. Bagged this at £479.97 last week. IPS screen, Ryzen 5, 3500U. 8GB RAM [6gb useable]. Brilliant for everyday use and watching/streaming on that beautiful IPS screen.

You're welcome! The screen is one of the most important parts of a laptop, I'll never go back to TN now.
