Why have laptop screens shrunk from 15.6" to 14" and RAM reduced from 8GB to 4GB as standard specs?

Smaller screen means it is lighter, better battery life and oh smaller so more portable! Also I find 13" that I had was more than enough, but I do work from a desktop at home.

As for the ram I would have liked more but can be upgraded to 12gb with an 8gb stick for around £30.
Forgot to add, as it is Costco get extended 2 year warranty as standard
Can’t see on link is it in store only? Thanks

I still like big screen laptops . Small laptop s cut applications if the application does not scale down properly. Better to carry 15.6 portable screen than cutting out applications .

Decent price for a portable item, voted hot, specs could be better but can't argue at this price.
