Specs seem good only downside I can see is Screen is 720 resolution not full HD .

UPDATE
I have received the laptop I can confirm the following:

- Model is Asus Vivobook [Slim] S14
- Max Screen Resolution is 1366 x 768 LCD (Looks good to me)
- Processor is 8th Gen i5-8250u as stated (Sticker on Laptop says 7th Gen)
- Has Wifi and Bluetooth (Website says it doesn't)
- Rest of website details are correct

If the screen isn't a big issue for you (even if it is 2017 and there shouldn't be a place for 720p now) then this is probably the best deal on the market right now. Have some heat!

Before you leave, lift the bonnet and admire the engine.

But Screen Res makes me quote skotluis - Goodnight!

Probably the best £450 laptop I’ve seen posted, have some heat.

I think this deal will get quite hot, and you might want to consider adding res to the posting so that people don’t miss that fact in the heat of the moment.

Very tempting, 1366*768 on a 14" screen isn't necessarily terrible.... one would expect it's a TN panel of course but does anybody know? I don't have time to google everywhere to find one seller who lists it.

Voted hot but the screen definition kills it. Too bad because 8th gen i5 are really powerhouses

Thanks OP, bought this. Hopefully 5% topcashback too.

I just checked the bottom of mine and there is actually a note on it that says "Football manager, you are fired".

I'm not sure they have the spec right. I'm sure the vivo book slims announced with 8th gen are all Full HD. But the model number only shows up as unique to AO.

The 2/5 star review on AO.com comments on the poor resolution, so I would assume the specs are correct.

Very light but bad resolutionI have been using ASUS for 4 years and I love this brand. This laptop is very light, which is good for people who take around a laptop to many places. However, I don’t recommend to buy this one at all if you’re watching videos on laptop. The resolution is even worse than the one which costs £399.

Such a shame about the screen but heat for specs

The memory alone on the laptop is worth about £100.

Hot.

Yeah, I enjoyed Football Manager 2015 but the latest one isnt very good IMO.

seems pretty decent for the price but a 1080p screen for maybe £30 more would be a really good sweet spot

heat regardless

ridiculous that in this day and age 128gb ssd is accepted as ok. Why not just add £15 and put a 256gb in there instead, at least that way I dont have to go ripping the laptop apart to upgrade it, or try and survive flipping files back and forth between external hard drives.

Pity, I was going to buy the 256GB version of this for the wife when it goes on sale on Amazon this Friday. Model number S410UA-BV133T and 30% expected to be off the £799 price tag.

Get a mini server & transfer files onto that whenever you get a chance?

Consumers should be boycotting the anything that is not 1080p in 2017 that is the only way they will stop trying to sell us below par screen. Otherwise good specs. Hold off until Black Friday though....

Hold off until Friday

I'd be all over this if it had a full hd screen. Even a TN would've sufficed

720p isn't acceptable for a phone in 2017, never mind a laptop.

Great price, I'd love one. The code seems to have expired tho. Ill hold off for now.

anything with more power and an HD screen on there?

Why Asus Why? make a decent spec laptop to finish it off with a very poor screen

Will it be good for light-moderate gaming?

Yes

Spec is so mismatched by the screen. Seems they do do a 1366 version. Checked with Asus themselves. CPU is one of the best you can buy and they pair it with this crap screen? Bizarre.

They announced a version of this with same CPU, full HD and dedicated MX150 graphics which you can actually game on. I'm holding out for that.

Code has expired.

It states no wifi in spec's. This can't be true

At Asus website is in spec full hd. ASUS VivoBook S14 S410UA. asus.com/Lap…UA/

Bought earlier and spoke to AO. Claimed it’s full HD on their system.

Spoke to AO when I bought it earlier and they claimed it’s full HD. Not being delivered to Mon though.

Why does it say it has no Wi-Fi or no Bluetooth

Don't trust the specs on the AO website, they appear to be wrong.

This is a stonking deal.

Not necessarily. Found this review, and it states that it does come in 2 different resolution screens.
