Cheapest around as far as I can see! Well spec'd machine that should take any productivity work you throw at it. 8GB RAM also, which is great if you are using memory intensive apps like Photoshop, Lightroom etc.

The X555 model also comes with a long lifespan Li-Polymer battery, which should give you 2.5 times the lifespan of a traditional laptop battery.

Doesn't have a 1080p screen. How much of an issue is that?

That depends on whether you need the extra space or not.

ok price. I have a similar Asus laptop but it has an i5 and a touchscreen. I replaced the h/drive with an SSD and it boots in around 10 seconds. It's been pretty good but if I were buying now would go for a 13 / 14" laptop and try to get one a bit lighter..

Resolution: 1366 x 768

I just threw up a little.

lol

Only 736p which really lets this down, I wouldnt spend more then £300 on a laptop with just a hd screen.

Not bad but why get this when
- HDD
- 1366 x 768
- Poor processor (in comparison to similarly priced laptops)

This HP 250 G5 would be better surely considering,
+ SSD
+ Slightly better processor
+ Full HD

Even the Lenovo V110 would be better with,
+ SSD
+ i5 6200U
The only downside being with this is that it is 1366 x 768, but even so this would be better than the Asus laptop offering a much faster CPU and an SSD which is incomparible to HDD speeds.

The only reason to opt for the Asus one would be for the extra 4GB of RAM for specific heavy duty applications such as Adobe programs.
