Who wouldn't want a Santa Rosa? Though I'm not sure about the 8400... normally the x400s are pretty poor performers...

The 8400 is the successor to the 7400 and is fully compatible with direct X10 (which will be *required* in order to play next gen games like crysis, alan wake, ut2007 and many others), it outperforms the 7300 and 7400 as well as the X1300 and X1400. It isn't meant to compete with the 7600 or 79*0, but you find me laptops with Santa Rosa processors and a 7*00 graphics card for less than £900. Note that a 6800 will outperform a 7400. The processor is a very good one, with very little heat dissipation and great performance. It's rare to find Nvidia *800 and *900 on anything more portable than a desktop replacement. Asus build very good quality products, I believe their hardware is comparable to macs, if you want cheap laptops asus isn't for you. From WIKI:

This Wireless-N technology boasts a 5X speed increase, along with a 2X greater coverage area, and supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidths, enough for high definition audio and video streams. :[2] * NAND flash-memory caching branded as Turbo Memory (code-named Robson) * RAM supported for DDR2-533 and DDR2-667 SODIMM, * EFI-compliant firmware, a successor to BIOS. * Intel Dynamic Acceleration (IDA), better Windows Vista Aero support [1]
