I may grab this for my gaming rig, question is shall i get 4690k or 4790k?

I got the deluxe version of this....good boards.

I went for the 4790K and 32GB RAM....should last me another 5/6years like my last built machine did!

I'd go i5 for just gaming, i7 for video/pro app type work still, anything more for gaming is probably unnecessary, and if the budget is tight might be better spent on beefing up the GPU. If you're minted fair enough i7

Same problem here... Argh.

Good price for this board. Doubt that the average gamer needs all the bells and whistles this board has though.

Looked through it and the z97k had everything I needed at 30 quid cheaper.

Very nice

it says dual gigabit, but only have one on the backplate. Have they got the wrong pics or wrong description

Just a bad Amazon description I think - the pro is single ethernet isn't it?

fancy an upgrade, not sure wether to wait for ddr4 refresh mobos though...

Just be aware that tech/cust support by these guys is the worst i have every come across, I sent a board for cpu pin to be fixed came back with 2 new problems and there answer is to contact citizens advice bureau, no i'n not kidding they are shocking for support

Seems to be expired...currently showing on Amazon for £146.55.

Expired. Shame, good deal!

For gaming only, i5. The GPU is always the most important part of a gaming setup - processor is (to a point) immaterial.

If I had to go ASUS, I would prefer the Ranger, at between £125 and £130 if you shop around. Not directly comparable, less connectivity but it sounds as though there are more options (in bios) for teasing out those slightly mental overclocks and possibly better durability on that ASUS product range.
