Probably yes, 8GB ram in 5 years is the major question mark though. I'd get something upgradable

Does anyone know if ram is upgradeable?

I'm not too acquainted with specs but I don't think you'll be doing much gaming with that GPU.

If looking For gaming ultrabook, make sure power supply can keep up. My previous zenbook(older model) would turn off after 2.5h intensive gaming when battery depleted, as charger would not be able to to keep up. (edited)

Good deal but a Ryzen 7 with upgradable RAM for an extra £50 is a no brainer for me

It's a tough one, technically the Ryzen is a better processor but I'm pretty certain the Intel xe graphics are superior however with Zenbooks the decision is made harder by the thermals not being great. Zenbooks are awesome machines but known to have throttling issues due to their thermals unless the new ones have had a design change.

If it was me when though the Ryzen is a better processor I'd go with the Intel. One because for day to day use you wouldn't notice much difference and two, I think the Intel xe will have the edge for that little bit of gaming

Also by the looks of it the Intel one has thunderbolt which doesn't mean much now but it's the way fwd. (edited)

are you saying the Intel will produce less heat as well? I am particularly interested in the energy consumption of the AMD v the Intel (edited)
