Has anyone actually got one of these or had a play in the shop? I thought it looked a great idea but when I actually tried using it, it was more of a hindrance.

Maybe works better using a mouse and not just the track pad?
Would this run football manager 2020 well?

I bought this when the £30 cashback offer was on.

Great laptop, looks the part and the build quality is high, slimline aluminium body.

The trackpad works fine, you don’t have to turn on the numpad. Not as good as a xps trackpad but it is an Asus...

This version does NOT come with windows hello hardware no fingerprint or facial recognition.

Overall great specs and lots of useful ports. Very lightweight, excellent keyboard. Very fast. Most importantly, though the utopia blue metal spun lid looks absolutely gorgeous. Only other one ASUS uses is the UX392FN which costs £1400.

For a decent FM experience you need RAM (8gb for decent or 16gb for amazing) and preferably an SSD instead of a normal HD (but this doesn't matter as much as the processor). And if you use the 3d match engine (I don't) you could use a decent dedicated graphics card. Something like this would be okay...

Very appealing weight for the spec.
Is this the older model? Without screenpad 2.0?

This is quite a decent model as amd 3000 series processors haven’t been out very long.

The 431 series is the successor to the the 430 series, lower end zen books. The 433 and 434s are the ones where the second touchpad screen has been introcurs but the latter are £1000-1400 laptops.

So in short, no these are new but they are the lower end models which weren’t meant to have the screen touchpad anyway
Managed to pick one of these up in the eBay Currys shop with a cheeky extra discount.

Would be interested to know from experiences from any owners. What's good and bad? Any quirks or tips?
I got this, its not bad haven't fully tested yet but seems fast & light enough for my needs (travel laptop). Also they now have and extra £30.off... And i got them to price match themselves, for any one who got it at the higher price
I got this with the £30 off and also with a further 8% off through a scheme at work where I can buy instant vouchers at a reduced cost so it cost me a total of £478. I realise that spec wise there are other options for cheaper but I am fed up using poorly made plastic laptops with rubbish screens so ordered this. I received it yesterday and have to say it looks great with a full metal design and feels very well made. The screen is matt (I probably prefer glossy a little bit more) and the laptop feels nice and fast (of course, this is no gaming machine) and managed photo editing using lightroom well enough for my purpose. I'm happy anyway as although not the cheapst, I could not find a deal for a similar aesthetic/quality near the price I paid.
Can't agree more Kyle.

I was shopping around for my sister who mostly had the odd demands of a backlit keyboard and decent speakers whilst keeping the price sensible which was more difficult than I thought. Plus I wanted to get her something genuinely decent that is a step up from the plasticky and weighty Inspiron with a 2hr battery life she currently uses.

It's possible to get great CPU & RAM specs these days for relatively little cash but life is too short to use something that feels so nasty to use if you can avoid it. All these Lenovos where the chassis is the same between £250-£450 are great examples. If you pay £450 you'll get specs that beat this for speed, but every other aspect will be at the standard of a £250 unit. i.e. awful

This is really obvious if you go on the high street and see them in person. So many really poorly built devices with plastic everywhere, screen flex, wobbly hinges and fully plastic chassis'
Hope she likes this anyway!
I'm sure she will be chuffed. And exactly, you can often find cheap items where the specs are ok, but there will be multiple compromises making it unpleasurable in use. Really happy with mine. Even liking the matt screen and lack of reflections now as well! I thought it was an OK deal but am now, looking at others, feeling like I got a bargain.
