The laptop is great - build quality is good, it doesn’t run nearly as hot as my XPS13 did. What lets it down is the ‘screen door effect’ on the screen, a major issue you might not be able to overlook. Considering the rest of the machine is great, I’m learning to live with it, but what’s the point in an OLED screen if it looks like there’s a fine mesh applied over the whole thing?

Just to note, the touch screen has MPP 2.0, so you can draw on it with a pressure sensitive stylus. (edited)

This is a newly released CPU that contains 12 Cores and 16 Threads. The Intel Core i5-1240P also has reasonable threaded performance that will serve well in games. Paired with a good videocard, is this CPU Good for Gaming? Yes, this would be a suitable CPU for gaming.

guesstimation: great specs on paper from a brand who is usually very value-focused. I doubt the build quality is all that solid, but the screen will undoubtedly be beautiful and the keyboard perfectly serviceable. The processor is modern enough and lightweight enough to guarantee good power efficiency probably putting out around 8 hours of usage with good enough performance that the average user won't hit any limitations unless trying to game. Even then, for lighter title this will work just fine. I played South Park: Stick of Truth on an 11th gen (previous gen) Xe graphics machine and it ran flawlessly.

one major drawback I see from the specs is that it's a very high-res display. On a 14-inch that level of detail won't really be noticeable and will only serve to drain the battery faster. So perhaps put my previous 8hr estimate down to 5-6h

Build Quality is in fact very good. This is a zenbook not a vivobook

Maybe more storage but the laptop is an older design and the battery is worse as well.

I have this laptop and unfortunately I won't agree with the opinion that screen is amazing. True it's oled and dark scenes look incredible but they put some weird coating to make touch enabled. Now every bright scene (white website, word document, bright movie) looks dirty with grid/dot pattern. It's been few days and can't get use to it.
It looks like using screen from decade ago (I have vivobook from Asus as well without touch and it doesn't have that grid pattern / dirty look- every content looks gorgeous).
Oled non touch > good IPS > Va panel > oled touch

I don't see any of that grid patten you mention on mine.

I prefer 8 GB MacBook because nothing gives you better feeling than paying 1000 pounds for 8GB
