Looking for a convertible with a bit of power to replace my ageing macbook pro. Good balance of specs, build quality and price. Was a mac fan, but can not justify their current prices/quality.
+2 year JL guarantee

Oozing elegance the ASUS ZenBook has an aluminium-alloy unibody chassis to keep weight down to just 1.3kg and measures a mere 13.9mm in thickness for optimum portability. It's powered by Intel's 7th-Generation i5 processor and 8GB RAM to provide a battery life of up to 12 hours.
Striking looks
The perfect balance between form and function, the ZenBook has a solid aluminium alloy body with a stunning spun-metallic, Zen-inspired circular design across the lid and durable sandblasted-metal finish over the rest of the chassis.
Fired up
Intel’s 7th generation processor, codename Kaby Lake, is designed to make your laptop faster and more efficient. It’s purposely built to support Thunderbolt 3 and face-scanning cameras used for Windows Hello. Your laptop’s overall productivity will show improvement for flawless multi-tasking and playback of 4K Ultra-HD video will occur without delay or interruption.
Solid State Drive
A 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD) gives you capacity to store your documents and media, while ensuring fast and dependable access to your files and programs. SSDs are much faster than regular hard drives, and don't use moving parts to work, making them more reliable, too.
Stunning QHD+ display
With an jaw-dropping QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels, the Zenbook's LED backlit screen can display images and videos with incredible detail. It'll help bring movies to life and reveal new beauty in photos and pictures, and make text pop off the screen for an improved reading experience.
Superb connections
ZenBook UX360 is fitted with a reversible USB-C port for easy use as well as offering data transfer speeds that are 10x faster than the older USB 2.0 version. Don't forget that the laptop also has two USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port to connect to another screen and SD card slot for multi data transfer.

I was looking at surface pro too, but equivalent would be surface book which is another level and another price level. Stylus works but not with surface features.

Thanks so it's like a capacitive stylus instead of the type the surface pro has? Would it be ok for writing up maths assignment answers?

I was in the same position with this and a surface pro. I found a SP for £900 new though and couldn't resist because i wanted to draw, too. The SP is fantastic but mine has half the storage of this and no 4k. Oh and no HDMI out...
