This has now been reduced by £300 to a great bargain of £499 and it's possible to get it even cheaper. AO.com has a 'Britains Got Talent' promo which you need to do first. It's at the bottom of the link and my prize gave me £30 off a purchase over £199. That's £469.99 delivered and currently £800 on Amazon. Laptop spec below.

is the keyboard backlit?

No but I've never needed a backlit on s desktop or laptop so don't see it as a deal breaker
Looks pretty good, shame only 128gb, but otherwise seems to have everything.
Purchased... lurking a while, first time I've ever had a super urge.. I was looking at this a couple of weeks ago and couldn't cough up the original cost, I was almost tempted to by a used one but was still a bit more than this.

Bargain, great screen, good speed, decent battery life. Hot!

did you get money off via the BGT promotion?

Hmm, i5-6200U, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, 3200x1800 display. I'm not sure how they justified the £800 original price, heck my Dell XPS 13 cost less, came with a bigger SSD and a bunch of quality of life stuff like a backlit keyboard and TB3.

At £500 I can't argue though.

For anyone who forgets the BGT promotion they will apply a discount retrospectively if you do it after. Just call 03443249222 with your promo code. It takes about a minute to verify the code and they will refund it to your card. I know this as I did it this way
Nice one - wanted the regular zenbook tbh but got 40 quid off at britains got talent 460 an absolute steal thanks op

Had a zenbook for 4 years and it has been great

Whilst waiting for the response on here, I asked on the ao.com chat and they confirmed it doesn't have a backlit keyboard.

Shame as I probably would have bought one.

Great find, just placed an order for £489 (using discount code TENNEROFF). Amazon had it for £599 a few days ago before selling out. Many thanks!

Quite a few bad reviews on amazon … Quite a few bad reviews on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-UX360UA-DQ143T-Rotatable-Touchscreen-Convertible/dp/B01IU8FL16

As usual with Amazon you need to check which version people are reviewing.

Does anyone know how loud this laptop gets? purchased the Medion Akoya S3 409 I3 version recently. Was so loud i had to return it. This could replace it.

Bought this last week for £539.10 thought it was a bargain on their site. I am very impressed with it Great Specs and fantastic Graphics and battery for £499!!! Wow. Crazy price, phoned up and got £40 refunded to bring it down as they honour discounts and price reductions against ANY competitor including for 7 days after delivery.. Not bad

The battery life says 12 hours? How long in real world usage?
I have been testing it. ON 50% brightness which is good indoors, I get about 9hrs watching video and with the Wi-Fi on. That's pretty good considering. With blu tooth it drains more. I would say at least 8-10hrs depending on what you do. (settings etc, save energy and so on).

21 minute review of this model here - only difference in spec is the review model has a 256GB drive.

There was a bios update for the fan noise
According to reviews online the UK/Aussie market gets this with an i5 and 128GB drive but Europe gets the same model with an i7 and a 256GB drive for the same money - i.e. the normal price and not the hotukdeal price here.

Does it totally fix it? It was honestly awful
I too bought this for £539 last week, managed to get £50.10 refund just now, very happy, thanks OP.

As others had said the laptop is fantastic, I have a HP Spectre 360 for work and can't really see any discernible difference between the two.

As for the fan noise, it was very loud and on most of the time, after googling I installed NoteBookFanControl.1.5.0 which sorted it right out, given what I use it for I don't think I'll ever hear the fan again.

if you have enough time and use gmail, you can 'make' a new email by adding '.' in between characters. I now have 4 different codes but nothing to use on
For the price this is a good deal for this type of device, so + heat. I prefer 256gb flash drive, but this is workable with an external storage drive
For those wondering of specs - this was listed on the Intel website.

Seen some reviews and the main issue is the reflective screen when used in a bright room.
