Is this an ALL aluminium case or is it just the lid / screen? I have watched a few reviews online and some say it is completely aluminium whilst others mention the case being plastic?

Shame they have gone for a 4K screen and the battery life has now dropped - a 1080P screen would have been enough IMPO.
Cold not 1080p :P

I think it is just the lid. Will let you know when it arrives next week!

For me not a terrible thing as I'm assuming it keeps it lighter weight wise

Thanks. I suspect it is just the lid also. Please report back when you receive it - it looks a very good laptop and I am tempted I have to say. A good £200 less than a refurbished Dell XPS 13 from the Outlet.

Battery life is my issue now when buying a laptop having been stung badly by a Dell Inspiron that was said to have 6 hours but which gave me only 3ish hours when new and then quickly fell to just about 1 hour.

Will do. From what I've read the battery life on this one isn't stellar due to the screen but for me that isn't a problem as I'll mostly be using in the house near to plug sockets!
I've watched a few reviews of it on youtube and they contradict one anoher about it being all aluminium or just the lid. Ha ha - they can't even get that basic thing right.

So it is here. I actually don't think any of it is metal! The lid has a brushed metal effect but I think it's plastic. The rest of the unit is plastic. Still feels nice though and the weight of it is great for me

Only annoyance so far is that the hinge on the lid is not very stiff so the screen can wobble a little bit if not used on a desk

Not had it on enough to comment on battery life! Most of the time it has been on has been processing windows updates

Glad you like it but shame about it not being metal. But I thik lots are like that today - they look it but are actually plastic.

What about noise? How quiet is it?

I watched a few more youtube videos about it today and every review rated it highly. One had a discussion about it or the XPS 13 with people saying that the XPS was not worth £400 more.

I hope you have lots of fun with it. Keep us informed please. I am going to have a further think about buying one.
I have this machine I bought it around a week ago. The lid is metal but the base is not. The metal lid isn't really a pro other then the aesthetics - it is cold to touch! The battery life is said to be 5 hours but haven't used it enough to say so far.

the charger for this machine is relatively small and light so if you get a decent laptop case you should be able to fit it in
