7th gen i5 (8th is better i know), 256GB SSD (sounds about right), 8GB RAM (sufficient i guess), QHD+ 13.3 3200x1800 touch (should be really good but drains the battery), 1.27Kg (ultraportable). Not for gaming so video card not great.. No ethernet and other possible useful ports for your ultra high tech wired home sorry... To be fair am not so sure about the built quality of this one but CosTco is usually good with returns so...

Wouldn't be for me because I've got a better laptop already but not bad for the money and for a change a good honest assessment of the device by the OP cheers
Can the display be downscaled to FHD?
On my way to Costco Cardiff will have a look if they are in-store

No it cannot...but to me the better screen worths more than let's say 10% more battery life...
Does this version have a backlit keyboard? Doesn't mention in the spec

Did they?
Lovely light and thin laptop with a great spec. Good price as well. Just bear in mind that the key travel is pretty shallow so if you do alot of typing, test it out beforehand to make sure that you're happy with it. Also note from the NBR review that they mention that the hinges seem very loose.

Bear in mind that Asus have a history poor hinge design on their Zenbooks:

They have an updated hinge from this model and onwards and should be much better. Not that many problems reported and thus the lack of many videos replacing them. It is a delicate ultraportable after all. Also there are different versions around the world. This one is with the 7th gen i5 and QHD so reviews can vary quite a lot between the different versions. The fan noise seems to be an issue though. 90days to change your mind and at least two years warranty (will check about the possible extension to 5 years on Monday).
