I've compared this processor to my current laptop and apparently it's 49% faster so in sure it will be good enough for me. I mainly browse the internet, download, watch films, photo edit and minor video editing.

It includes good connections for USB including 3.1 and includes back-lit keyboard.

There's space to add another storage drive and upgrade the memory if needed.
Nice design, size and weight.

4gb ram not good
Wow, £525 for an i3 laptop.
Seems a little under spec for the price I'd say.
That that one is twice as fast then this one will be four times faster and £30 cheaper when using the discount come on the site

Not that bad when combined with an SSD, with a normal hdd? Then yeah, I agree.
Winter came early
A bit expensive for the spec yes but why all the comments about Slow ? Yes gamers want "fast" machines but this is obviously not a gaming machine but would really need 256gb SSD and an I5 to be a deal at this price .
So if I post about some computer game will it actually get votes? What about a supermarket selling selection boxes, will that get votes?
I hate to be that guy, but:

It's the same laptop that Amazon was selling on Black Friday. It has been posted at least a couple of

Your suggestion is not Full HD though, big drawback and IMO unacceptable at this price range.

It is not the same, the Amazon deal was i5 8th gen, 8gb and 256gb ssd. maybe am I not understanding your post. Apologies in advance if that is the case. I suppose it shows how bad this deal is though.
Ok pretty cold but I guess it's fits my needs more than everyone else. I do think that people get carried away nowadays wanting bigger processors and 8gb min ram. I use my laptop on a daily basis for browsing the web, editing pics on Photoshop, some editing of video clips, converting movies etc. I've managed to do this for the last few years on a 6 year old laptop with i3 processor with 4gb ram. So I'm sure I'll be able to do at least the same and more with a newer i3 processor. You don't need more than 4gb for most day to day tasks. The full HD screen on this one is another plus for me. The one posted by the other poster is also good but not comparable for me as no Bluetooth which I use and poor screen. Like I say this one fits my requirements and it's the cheapest price for this model so in my eyes a hot deal. Each to their own I suppose..

True, it’s not a budget model though, you’re paying for design, more for portability (weight, HD screen, 14”in 13” size).
If you’re after a cheaper i3 they’re definitely out there

4gb ram not good

People should back up their comments.... This doesn't really provide enough info for anyone considering a 4gb laptop, not just those one. A large majority of users will not need more than 4gb. Ali depends what your using it for. I bet there's loads of people with i7 laptops with 8gb ram who just browse the internet and download music...

You are clearly a decent and sensible person, I know fully what you mean.

You're paying more for less.... this laptop is overpriced for what you get. This laptop should be selling for around £350 max. If you've recently bought this laptop then take it back for a refund.

Thanks for the advice, if you can get me an equivalent one for £350 I'll do just that! I suspect you won't though.... So I repeat, back this up... I would love this spec for£350. Unfortunately that's the prices at they moment whether they're worth it out or not. But seriously I would gladly like to see alternatives for less money as I'm already over budget tbh
Here you go click for £330. Can you now see how badly overpriced your laptop is.

Thanks, I saw that one posted the other day- definitely a good deal. I nearly went for that one but personally I still prefer the Zenbook. my personal reasons:
The Asus is lighter and slightly smaller which worked for me as I travel with it.
Zenbook looks better I think
I like the fact that I can add another hard drive in the Zenbook in addition to the existing one. Also another ram slot for potential upgrade.
Backlit keyboard is also a big plus for me

But you're right the Lenovo is good value for money but I'm happy to pay the extra for the points listed above AND it's still the cheapest price for the Zenbook that I'm planning to buy.
Not for everyone I know....
Most people with good sense wouldn't buy that laptop because it's overpriced and should be around the £330-350 mark. If you're happy to pay £200 more than you should then go for it. For another £20 you could get an i7 click, or another £8 an i5 click.

No need to imply I haven't got good sense, everything isn't black and white. Why would you expect it to be cheaper than the Lenovo when it has a better spec? You're making out that it's exactly the same product at £200 difference which it isn't, their similar. You obviously don't like it so that's fine, but don't make out I've no sense because I prefer it. Just chill out a bit, it's a laptop deal which you don't like which is fair enough.
End of. Sometimes think it's not worth posting on here when you get shot down like that. Basically if someone was looking at this laptop before my post then I've now highlighted where you can get it cheaper than elsewhere.
You're obviously a person who can't take constructive criticism. I make it simple for you to understand.... this laptop in this deal is worth £330-350 max and not £525. If you're going to spend £500+ on a laptop then you're looking at an i5 or i7.
You're making a mistake of defending a deal and taking it personally.

But the laptop your saying I should buy is not what I want, it's not got the features I'm looking for. All I'm saying is that you can't tell someone which laptop they have to buy because in your opinion it's better. I appreciate your suggestion but it's not for me. Doesn't mean I'm wrong or you're right. Opinions. Simples
I'm not telling you anything apart from this laptop isn't worth £525, it's worth £330-350. If you're going to spend £500+ on a laptop then you should be looking at an i5 or i7. If you're going to buy this laptop then good luck to you, you've more sense than money.

I've had another look at the laptops you've suggested and was nearly convinced to go for the Lenovo but I want to make sure this laptop lasts me for a good few years so I'm still sticking with the Zenbook.
After comparing I still think some of the features on the Zenbook are worth the extra - USB 3.1 which is a step up from USB 3.0 on the Lenovo, and more ports plus extra storage drive space and ram slots on Zenbook.
Thanks for the advice,
You're exactly right, I do have more sense than money! Cheers !

Actually it was my mistake in quoting someone else, essentially another person mentioned the S410UA-BV125T at AO.com (the i5/8/256) which is the exact configuration sold by Amazon on BF. You're absolutely right in that sense, that it makes this one an even worse deal.

Overall, you do pay a premium for portability, something that this Zenbook has, everybody ought to know that. The problem with this deal is that the price jump, combined with the barely average specs is just too much in this case.

Sure, you come on a deal site looking for bargains and save yourself money and yet you're willing to spend £525 on a £330-350 laptop You're full of . Next time you post up a 'deal' don't take it personal and you feel the need to defend it if not very good.

Not sure why you're so concerned how I spend my money, look I appreciate your suggestions but don't be offended that I haven't gone with them. My requirements aren't met by your suggestions and yes I realise I'm having to pay more to get what I want.
Whatever you say snowflake.
