Your product will ship on or before 08/09/2014.

Interesting that you use the term 'HDD' for the storage. I doubt it has one of these in there!

Imported phones have varying specs compared to the one direct from Asus but are much cheaper.

It's ok but I'd rather have the mot... nah just kidding. Comparable to the Xperia SP but I just don't get why they're using the Z2560, it's from Q2 2013 and a bit power hungry.

these seem a good deal, personally as they don't ship until next week anyway I'd wait a week, there's a lot of press conferences between now and then so we can expect a range of new phones including the moto g follow up before this hits the shelves

This looks interesting. Have you dealt with Simply before and if so, do you know if their prices include UK VAT? I did browse their site and their FAQs but couldn't see any reference to tax.

this phone was advertised as 150$ device.

This price is absolutely terrible

This phone was £119 on eBay and as I remember Zenfone 5 have mixed reviews..

Avoid Simply Electronics big time! Apart from the fact that they are based in Hong Kong (potential import tax issues), there will be high postage cost issues with returning it to them under warranty if you have a problem, plus a quick google brings up many horror stories re this company. I've fallen for this one, not realising they are based abroad (website quotes prices in £) and the Zenfone I have bought is faulty - see here:

Maybe this fault is a temporary issue that just needs a firmware fix, I hope so as it seems a good phone. Worth a go if buying from a UK supplier if the price is right and the phone doesn't have issues.

He's not doubting that, he's saying just because you saw a Zenfone5 at £85, don't assume it's the quad core 4G model being discussed and launched on the UK market.

not even 4g check specs before commenting please

There is 3 main variations of the zenfone 5 since the 1gb version has been effectively discontinued

2gb/8gb with Intel Atom 1.6ghz
2gb/16gb with Intel Atom 2ghz
2gb/16gb with Snapdragon 400 and 4G

If you don't want 4G the others are better value and have better performance for gaming.

Price is terrible compared to other countries, even with VAT added, but the UK is used to being ripped off so nothing out of the ordinary.

I've ordered from Simply before and they're not too bad to deal with. I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Tab P1010, the tablet was a pile of crap but couldn't knock their service. The communication could be better but apart from that not too bad.

It's not as bad as people who refer to storage as "memory".

This whole thread consists of smart Alecks pointing out lower spec versions of this phone. Of course the price is going to be lower! Please read the model number, it's not hard.

I have spent a long time looking around at these phones after wasting money on rubbish by brands similar to Cubot like Star or even worse, completely unbranded phones.

This handset is a good price for the spec. The only comparable phones I can find from a reliable brand (one big enough to have a quality control department) are the new Lenovo range and the new Moto G possibly.

I am most likely buying the Asus because it has a good camera; something I have missed since having Sony Ericsson phones in the past.

As said above, bear in mind that there are quite a few different versions with different processors (affecting both performance and battery life), different memory, different storage (the early ones won't take an SD card) and no 4G support (if that matters to you).

This is a good price if you compare to Argos who have just started selling it for £249.99 for instance.
