Price reduction of £100 (with fast & free delivery), Better price to other Gaming laptops on the market. Understandably Desktops are better don't want any of that quibble but these are great for those on the move or with lack of space. The lack of an SSD is a downfall but a similar specced laptop to this is £50 more (MSI) and one with an SSD is an additional £100. So easy saving of at least £50 if you purchase a 240GB SSD Bundled in too if you are that fussy.

Good reviews - plentiful, decent specs to run most games or software.

  • Intel Core i5-7300HQ 2.5GHz
  • 8GB DDR4 + 1TB HDD
  • 15.6" Full HD + WIFI
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB

Hope this is of use to anyone.

UPDATE: Futher reduction on sale of an additional 100 saving 200 now off the costs as previously 649.98 now 549.98.
Again hope this helps anyone on a budget that needs something portable.

Has USB-C, that's a bonus.

Really good for the price for the spec. Its not going to hold 60fps in newer games with that cpu but should keep above 30fps.

1050 is useless for gaming

nonsense. 1080p medium to high settings in all games at 45+ fps

argos.co.uk/product/7245569Similar spec if u can find one local

Problem with Medion is driver support is terrible, they are known not to resolve issues. Much rather an ASUS.

1050 is fine for gaming on low/med so great in a laptop for secondary use, i have basically the same spec laptop as this and the thing that will hinder your gaming experience more than anything in this is the lack of SSD. would reccomend for gaming at a budget or as a secondary to a Desktop for portability.

Careful the CPU performance in the link is quite a bit lower than that of the OP, i personally avoid the 'u' suffix on the 7th gen intel as the HQ etc outperform quite a bit the 'hq' i5 will outperform the 'u' i7, Although i am not saying the CPU is useless.

medion drivers are easy to update using clevo drivers, however there customer care i cannot fault. both they and argos worked to resolve a problem i had last year with a dead pixel on a ips screen! warning if you have 1 dead pixel medion will not repair it it has to be 2 or more.

Easy to update if available. My dad has been waiting nearly a year for Medion to update their drivers for his where a Windows update left his card reader not working and his WiFi constantly turning off. Upon investigation its a known driver fault which is going unresolved and seems Medion are known not to bother keeping drivers up to date.

1050 is useless for gaming

No your comment is useless the 1050 is fine. Witcher 3 plays nicely at 1080p on an MX150. A 1050 isn't going to play with everything on ultra but it will play quite nicely

My comment is not useless for someone who knows nothing about gaming on a laptop. If they clicked on this post and thought wow it must be great because it has gaming in the title they would be incredibly disappointed knowing it cannot even run a 2 year old game on ultra or even high at 60 Fps.

It all depends on what games you play and what you will accept. If you want to play the latest FPS/action titles at 60 fps on ultra, then yes it's useless. Either play on a desktop or spend lots more money. If you don't mind slightly older or less demanding titles, or think 30fps is fine or aren't bothered about having to dial down the graphics, then it's great.

Here is an i5 7300HQ GTX 1050 2GB specced laptop playing GTA V

and here is one tested on the Total War Attilla benchmark (although it has 16 GB RAM, graphics is still a "lowly" GTX 1050 2GB)

and here is Witcher 3.

and here is a whole slew of older games

As always horses for courses

Guh, PC mater race nerds.

Literally unplayable eh?

I play a game with infinite resolution and unlimited FPS, Its called "Life". You are going to need some serious upgrades to get yours running like the average persons.

I'm married with two kids.

You act like that statement doesn't make it even worse, sort it out lol.
ZX is not gaming series, G is gaming range. I purchased this laptop from amazon and return it back as the screen was cheep TN panel, not IPS as G series. If you wish to buy Asus gaming laptop buy G range

Nice laptop, nice price.

Personally, I'd rather buy a thinner/lighter laptop with Thunderbolt 3 and external GPU, but each to their own.
