Enjoy Epic Gaming Adventures With The Asus ROG Swift PG278QR Monitor.
Get ready for amazing visuals from a monitor that can handle the testing frame rates of the latest games – a WQHD 2560 x 1440 panel with overclockable 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time can keep up with the best.

Integrated NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ technology synchronizes the display's refresh rate to the GPU for smooth visuals and lag-free gameplay, making this a must-have for serious players.

You get to enjoy greater image detail and up to 77% more onscreen desktop space than standard Full HD (1920 x 1080) displays, which all adds up to give you a major in-game advantage.

The 165Hz refresh rate decimates lag and motion blur to give you the upper hand in first person shooters, racers, real-time strategy, and sports titles by letting you react instantly to what’s onscreen.

The slim profile and super-narrow 6mm bezel makes it perfect for almost seamless multi-display set-ups so your eyes move swiftly from one monitor to another. It can also be VESA wall-mounted.

You get flexible connectivity options via its DisplayPort1.2 and HDMI ports. There are also two USB 3.0 ports for your mouse and keyboard, and you can charge your mobile devices while gaming.

Ultra Low Blue Light filters protect you from harmful blue light and there are 4 different filter settings onscreen to suit your needs. Flicker-Free technology also ensures a comfortable gaming experience by minimising eyestrain when you're embroiled in long gaming sessions.

The ROG Swift PG278QR also features an ergonomically-designed stand with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment so you can always find that ideal viewing position whether you’re on the couch, sitting at a desk or relaxing on your bed.

A custom heatsink double the normal size keeps your gaming monitor cool and it works entirely without fans, making it completely silent and maintenance-free.

It's not overpriced it's more likely to be just over budget.

I've posted hundreds of deals over the years and thousands of comments of advice. This used to be a community but not anymore, not after Pepper group killed every deal that doesn't generate an affiliate income for them.

What about the reviews that say otherwise then? It's always going to be one random reviewer vs another. The only way to truly tell is to purchase one.

These reviews are weak/irrelevant, given a lack of any depth (missing obvious flaws with the monitor) and lack of hardware measurements (no measurements for contrast ratio, gamut coverage, etc.).

Proper review websites (such as TFTCentral, PCmonitors.co.uk) actually go into depth (with colorimeter measurements, etc.) and are more beneficial than purchasing the monitor and using the eye test alone (unless the user has a colorimeter and knows what to look for).

The monitor is bad given the price point, use of an extremely aggressive/grainy coating (PG278QR vs. PG279Q) and use of a (average at best) TN panel.

Obviously they are entitled to their opinions as are you. I'm sure it won't stop anyone buying this monitor otherwise they simply wouldn't sell any. The thing is the average consumer doesn't even read reviews and sent care in the slightest. They will buy this monitor, take it home, probably never even change a setting and get plenty of joy from it. Does it mean it's for everyone,? no but although you say this monitor is bad it's still cheap compared to RRP and that is what this site is about, it's not a review site.

Despite being cheaper than RRP, it's still overpriced and far from a good deal. The monitor is objectively bad (opinion is unrelated). The average consumer absolutely should care and do proper research, given this price point.

That's fine but they will still make up their own minds. Your opinion is just your opinion. Just like mine is mine. I would say buy this monitor, there is plenty of good reviews out there for it. You say don't because there is plenty of bad reviews out there for it. At the end of the day a monitor is very difficult to sell someone else on as everyone has their own preferences. You could be right and people may agree, with your view, some people won't and I'm one of them. I've seen this monitor in person and used it, I thought it was a great monitor. Your opinion or any reviewers opinion isn't going to change my mind because like I said it's only their opinion. Yes I'm not an expert but that's my point, neither are probably 99% of people buying any monitor, they just go on how it looks, how the screen looks and what brand it is. They don't care about anything else or if anything is cheaper or not. For example I've just bought a Sapphire Nitro 5700XT for £460. Does it perform £100 better than the 5700XTs you can get for £360? Nope but it's the card I wanted so it's the card I bought just as 1000s of other people will do. You will probably say it's a waste of money, I would simply say hey it's my money. Same applies to everything, try telling an iphone user that they are making a poor purchasing decision, see if they care.

I'm going by what's objectively bad about the monitor (which ultimately makes it a bad monitor), which isn't an opinion. Reviews which lack depth, use of hardware measurements, and skip important details (such as coating) are irrelevant.

For £435.99 it's more than easy to find a far superior IPS/AHVA/Innolux monitor without these flaws which ruin image quality, which makes this monitor a rip-off.

Whether the end user would be "fine" with this monitor is unrelated, given there are better options at a similar price point, making the monitor a bad purchase decision.

In your opinion like I said. Some people will have read these comments between us and I know that at least someone will have still bought this monitor because suits their needs and they may not want an IPS panel. Personally I've always preferred VA for gaming due to massively better contrast ratios over IPS. I don't need slightly more accurate colours or better viewing angles when I'm slap bang in front of the monitor gaming. But the better contrast is more useful in gaming. And I will still recommend this monitor despite what you say as you will continue to disagree. So at this stage we'll have to agree to disagree, but hey if everyone had the same opinions the internet would be pretty boring right
