Great deal for the 6850, I haven't seen them this cheap since they were released. Performs slightly poorer than a 5850 but it hardly uses as much power and runs very cool at the same time, I use it with 1080p and it works brilliantly!

There's also the 6870 for £179.99 that's already posted on here though if you want something more powerful!

Cracking price for a great performing card! Very tempted to get this as an Xmas pressie for myself

Cracking price. I need something a little quieter and smaller to fit in my case to replace my noisry sapphire 4670, so may wait to see how good the 5670 or 5770 replacements are next year.

why has this been expired???
it's still showing that price and is still in stock (in portsmouth)
I'm live chatting to sales right now

Great price! How are ATIs drivers nowadays as i used to think they were a bit pants. I am still drawn towards Nivida as the drivers have always been pretty good and Nvidia just seem to have better performance in games. Or is that old news and it is not like that anymore?

Not expired but add £5.86 delivery

the gtx 460 is as good if not better than older 5850 is the card to get , but for the money 460 gtx.

I stand corrected

The 5870 for £224 looks a decent shout too. But I reckon other vendors will start dropping price too.

Both 6850 & 6870 are PowerColor brand ! for those who want to know.

They're still pants. Moving back to Nvidia because of that...

Gawd I wish they'd stick to using higher numbers to show that one card is faster than another!

What numpty decided that a '6850' will perform slower than a '5850'!

None of this makes any sense any more harumph

How true.

How does this compare to a 4870?

Pretty favourably. As much as 80% faster in some games. At least 60% better in most.

Just don't like Radeon's 'VDU recovery' problems that some people get (me included)

Using 10.10e on my 4870 and Win 7 x64. No major issues here, only small niggles such as video accelerated dxva corruption on certain video encodes but I prefer my cpu to do the work anyway since that uses less power. :>

Well thats it isn't it---the "niggles" with ATI is what i hear a lot about.

What are the main differences between the 5850, 5870 to the new 6850 6870?

Never suffered any of these "niggles" myself, I've had a Radeon 9800 Pro, X850XT and a 4870 and no have experienced no issues specific to ATI/AMD.

Well that said, my brother is getting flickering textures in BC2 on his GTX280 (WHQL driver and beta drivers), whilst I am not. So by your logic, that is a major niggle and Nvidia should be avoided? And we all should use SiS/Matrox cards instead?

You should be more reasonable about drivers, it's been like this since day 1 of dedicated graphics cards, we just get more frequent and easily accessible updates now.
