Not a great review. Probably fine for 19 quid though...

Type of solder, flux and warm up time makes a difference.

The review itself wasn't good, wasn't a need to get the back off.

No problem soldering 80pin chips that can be done in a few minutes.

The chip is a Microchip dsPIC33CH512MP508.
I own different brand of this device, found it pretty hard to use and not the best. Ended up running is a 400c most of the time as it wouldn't melt solder correctly at lower temps. The video explains why. Pretty much everything at college was weller so just assumed it was the cheap tips and not the station. Worked OK but anything that had a through hole was difficult to de solder.
I have ordered one for this price but as the above video shows it use the same two cords, running from the main unit, to heat up the tip as to check temperature...but well it cost as much as bottle of a spirit so why not.
I think I paid £50 for this, they have around for a while.
The one I have is called, Precision Gold A55KJ.

I replaced mine to one with an analogue control prefering a dial.

Working temperature 270 Degrees C.
