If you can afford to do this great, but in two years and at 8k I'd expect a car at the end of it. Just seems like dead money.

You say about the cost of maintaining a second hand car... Yes they can go wrong but touch wood ordinarily you are talking a service, mot and few tyres now and again. And if I was outlaying 8k on a car and paying it back over two years I'd be buying something half decent ( I appreciate its a lottery the second hand car market and things do go wrong)

I'm Sure Its a great deal and I havent voted either way and don't mean to troll your post.... I just could not warrant 8k over 2 years and have nothing at the end.

Anyway if your lucky enough to endulge..... Enjoy 👌

I’ve never leased but if you went and purchased this car brand new you would be more than £8K down after two years. So in those terms buying a brand new car outright is also dead money?

Doubt it will look the same as the new version. Plus what about other costs of maintaining a second hand car?
5k miles!

Good luck with that

I bought one a couple of years ago, it’s no bother

It’s worth noting that the pictures shown on the leasing site and the deal here are not a black edition. The black edition is much higher spec.

I've never leased or bought a new car. I let somebody else take the depreciation hit. That said, I could see why a few years of trouble free motoring would be nice.

Not brand new, buy a one year old and you'll be surpised how well audis retain their values 2-3 years down the line
Just what the world needs, more Audi drivers!!!

Let me guess, Kia Picanto, Hyundai i10, or Suzuki Wagon R are the dawdlers favourite cars.
These slow drivers are just as dangerous as agressive drivers.
As for buying vs leasing, buying is only better if you choose a reliable car. Anything else wants to be on a lease.

You forgot the Skoda yeti but yes, driving slow is just as dangerous if not more.

I agree. I’m always seeing plebs on the motorway driving dangerously slowly, hogging the outside lane, not moving over to the left etc and they are usually in everything but an Audi.

Unscientific tests have shown that owning an Audi may actually improve your driving.

But you don’t have nothing at the end after £8k - you’ve had a vehicle fit two years....

With that logic do you never go on holiday, or use public transport, or go to the cinema? What do you have to show after you have spent your money on those?

I was interested in the Yeti when I last changed my car, can only be described as painfully slow.
Then my wife said why don't we have another Subaru....
Running costs a bit higher but the Scooby never fails to put a smile on my face.

They aren’t pictures of the black edition - use Audi’s configuration tool to see the difference.
I appreciate people have an issue with such deals. However, sometimes it's nice to drive a nice new car for a few years, if you can afford it.

It's also preference, some people ride in banged up cars but regularly buy stuff at Waitrose. Some people like to spend money on a car that they spend 10% of their time in due to commuting.

I don't get the people on here saying...why lease? It should be "why lease when you don't even own a house?"

Please give an example where you can get a nearly new Audi A5 Sportback with low mileage for £8k.
Plus consider you'd need to have the £8k in capital to buy the car.
If you don't then you're taking out about £9k to pay for this car (with a loan) and then having to maintain it for the two years probably making it £10k...
So you're now paying 25% more for an older , possibly problematic car.
You then have the issue and hassle of selling it.
That to me is not sensible...but each to their own
It’s not £239 for 8k miles. Jumps to £252 for 8k.

What about the young mums in massive land rovers trying to push everyone out of the way because they are late to their slimming world class.
This is not a good deal at 5k miles a year. Also having to put down 2 and a half grand is a lot of money when you get cars just as good with no upfront deposit. Oh and I'm pro leasing, I have a Cooper S on one.

If rather than buying the car you want, you buy whats cheap, it can make sense buying new. I'm talking paying 25% off list price. Add in the cost of three years warranty, new tyres, free breakdown cover. Buying two year old popular model cars not always so sensible.
As usual the comments crack me up.

But... to the people who think leasing is a stupid idea just remember, that used car you own, well some time ago someone actually had to buy (or presumably lease) that from new. Without them you’d never have it

It's not the cars that are the problem, it's the person behind the wheel.

I think some cars just stick out more than others.

Larger cars try and bully or feel entitled because they are above the traffic, higher range sportier cars tend to have heavier feet.
