Audible promo code 60% off 3 month membership = £3.19 per month

Found 23rd Aug 2016
Pretty decent deal for 3 months audible membership - 1 book/credit per month for £3.19 per month (60% off - usual price is £7.99 per month for this type of membership). When/if you cancel at the end of the 3 month period, there's a good chance they'll offer you a reduced rate for a further 3 months to keep your custom. Or some people get offered a free book credit, whereas others get £10 credited to their account.

Judging by the terms and conditions, it doesn't look like it's just applicable to new customers (see pic in first comment below). I haven't had the chance to ask customer service, but I'd guess this means you can use the code if you're at the end of your current membership.

Code expires on 4th September.

What's the code please?

Tried to upload pic of t's and c's using my phone, but can't do that within comments for some reason. When you click on the deal link and enter the code, then click next, you should get the page I've shown in the deal pic. Just click on the link in that page for the t's and c's.

I had a look too. Seems a little shady? How can they offer such a cheap rate for the specific books that you want??

I think it's legit but still strange... and you have to list all the books you want at once the credits don't go on your account

I came across that Reddit forum too. Looks like there are some mixed views on it. I sent one of the eBay sellers a message yesterday, to ask about how they manage to offer these codes at such a low price (in more of a curious tone than a challenging one). No reply so far, but that doesn't necessarily mean too much. Could be that they haven't seen the message. Could be that they don't want to reveal their business plan to some random who might want to copy it. Could be that they don't want to answer an awkward question in writing.

The 'details' aren't particularly clear in the t's and c's. I got round to asking audible about the code on their live chat. It definitely works for new customers so I wanted to check if it would work for existing ones too. I'll see if I can copy the conversation I had with him into the next comment.

You are now connected to Joey from Audible.com.

Me:
Hi
I would like to redeem the promotional code: SUMMER60AUD. I currently have an active membership account. Can you tell me if this code applies to both new and existing customers please?
Also, if I still have a month left on my current membership, but I feel that this deal represents a more affordable membership price for me in the long run, is it possible for me to cancel my membership (after spending my remaining credits obviously) and then renew it by using the above code to get the associated offer? I want to make sure I'm getting a membership price I can afford, but I don't want to break any membership rules.
Thanks.

Joey :
Thank you for contacting Audible. My name is Joey. I can certainly look into this for you.

Me:
Thanks Joey. I'd really appreciate that.

Joey :
May I know if what promotion is that?
You're welcome.

Me:
It's 60% off for 3 months

Joey :
Is it the £3.99 every month for 3 months?

Me:
Slightly less than that. It works out as £3.19 per month.

Joey :
Really, I don't think we have that one. But, if you got that one you can redeem that once your membership plan is cancelled. Or try to redeem it while you have an active membership plan.
So that on your next billing date you will be charge for the discounted amount.

Me:
The code works on the audible site, when I'm not signed in - as in, when I'm approaching it as a new customer. So the code is recognised by the site, and gives the price of £3.19 per month. I've tried entering the code when I'm signed in, but it doesn't work. The code expires on 4th September, and my membership plan expires on 21st September. So that's why I'm asking about my options at this stage, and whether it's for new customers only, or if I can cancel and then renew with this code.
The terms and conditions for the code don't mention the need to be a new customer.

Joey :
Oh I see.
Are you currently enrolled on the 1 book monthly for £7.99?

Me:
In the hope that I don't sound too cheap - I'm actually also on a current offer of £1.99 per month. The code probably doesn't work because I'm already on an offer. But I just wondered if it would work if I cancel and then renew, because this would save me more money in the long run. I'm just trying to make it as affordable as possible because I wouldn't be able to manage the cost of £7.99 per month.

Joey :
I understand. So, you may need to cancel or entire membership plan after that once you would like to redeem the code you can try to redeem that. If not allowing you please let us know.

Me:
If it doesn't work, I'll lose my final month's membership at the great value of £1.99, so I just wanted to be sure I wasn't gambling that. Is there any way I can be sure that final month won't be lost if it doesn't work out? Sorry for the hassle.

Joey :
If doesn't work we can enroll you here on the discounted 1 book monthly.

Me:
Thanks Joey. I appreciate the help. I'll give it a go. All the best.

They seem to be codes for Audible.com (the American site). Did the codes work on the Audible.co.uk site?

Code worked for me thanks!

Nice one!

If you are an ongoing member then if you click through to cancel and say it is because they are too expensive then they will often offer you something to stay.

If you are an ongoing member you cannot normally use codes, however, it seems many people, myself included have been able to cancel and then rejoin straight away with a code.

The important thing to remember is that you lose any unspent credits when you leave, therefore you need to spend these first.

Also if you monitor the Audible Daily Deals, there can be some great reads at times. Yesterday was Bill Bryson The Thunderbolt Kid for only £1.99. I've had some great books from this all for £2.99 or less. For instance this year, To Kill a Mocking Bird, John Le Carre The Biography, All Hell Let Loose by Max Hastings.

I know everyone has their own tastes, but I really enjoy these. I buy a book around once a month on the daily deals. I can go for weeks checking every day and not buying, and then buy two in a week.

So this worked fine even thought the credit is for .com audible? Just buy from eBay and link the .com books you want and they will work fine on your co.uk account?

I came across a Spotify seller for £10 for the year. It works but he wouldn't tell me how.

Audible? Pfft. Sounds like an ace deal... If you're a bookworm nerd.

Just a quick heads up - I posted a deal on here this morning for the Audible Daily Deal. Stephen King's 'It' for £2.99. Great book, and nearly 45 hours long!
