I don't remember the original having a removable cable. that's a nice feature too!

This one just came out very good price.

This version has not been around for "quite a long while now", they were only released in February, last month.

They are also not $100 in the usa, they are $160, and never been cheaper than $160 on amazon. The DT770's are $154. Even the M50's are £136 currently.

This model has 3 detachable cables, where the regular M50 does not, it also has improvements made to the earcups.

As a side point, I also have the DT770 pro's, and I would say the M50x produces a clearer sound, with more bass, although it is very close. The major let down with the DT770's is their lack of portability.

I'd say the m50s at £90 are way more worth it - like 99% the same sound.
This is still a good deal though.

How one post can have so much wrong with it?

I bought these and sent them back rather promptly. After originally getting a pair of the M50's about a year ago, I returned them as I was disappointed. I ended up get a pair of Audio-Technica Q40's, and they're mind blowing. Hands down the best headphones I've used, with a far better price tag! I paid £46 for a pair of returned ones! :O

I bought these about a week and a bit ago, and returned them as, in my opinion, they weren't really much improvement on the old ones. Slightly more comfy, and the selection of cables was an excellent addition, but the sound still isn't quite there for me.

Overall, for me, they are a slight improvement in usability (so excellent if you like the sound) but the sound isn't any better than the old model, in my opinion.
