AUKEY Dash Cam Full HD 1080P Dash Camera

  • Clear Video Capture: The DR01 backs you up in any road incident. Sony Exmor Sensor captures super-sharp 1080p video (and optional in-car audio) with 170° field of view and also performs well for nighttime driving
  • Emergency Recording & Loop Recording: Emergency Recording automatically captures unexpected driving incidents and protects the recordings. Loop Recording allows continuous use by writing over old, unneeded footage.
  • Extreme Temperature Operation: Powered by the included dual-port USB car charger and internal supercapacitor. The supercapacitor has greater heat & cold endurance and longer lifetime than standard battery technology
  • Easy Mounting: Easily and securely mount to your windshield in seconds with the included suction cup or double-sided 3M pad
  • Package Contents: AUKEY DR01 Dashboard Camera, Dual-Port USB Car Charger, USB Mini-B Power Cable (4m/4.37yd), Sticker Mount, Three 3M Stickers, Six Cable Clips, User Manual, 45-Day Money Back Guarantee and

Any good?

Any good?

I have this and does the job well. Had it since July 2017. Be aware you also need to buy a micro SD card too
Tempting, but I think I'd like a rear added too.
I am currently using this as a rear dashcam wired into the 12v socket. Works well and start stop does not affect it like the front hardwired to fuse box.

Didn't actually think of using it stand alone, always just thought I'd needed a dual setup. Wonder if I have a live 12v I can tap in the rear (ooer) rather than run from the 12v socket.

Yeah I was lucky to have a 12v socket in the boot.

How your cameras operate is down to the way they are wired up.

If they both were on permanent 12V they would both operate 24/7 without start / stop affecting them.

If they were on "ignition 12v" they would be turning on and off with the ignition.

Correct, I am not telling anyone how to wire their own dashcams. I just gave example of how I've done it.
Is this worth it over Apeman C420 that's on Amazon right now for £19.99 with a voucher?
Using it for nearly two years, good enough for the price

I have gone for the Aukey because.:-

It has supercapacitor backup power, not battery, so should have a longer service life.

It has an adhesive pad mount as well as a sucky cup thingy

It supports larger memory cards.

I suspect either one will do the job though!

Seems slightly better quality with the Sony sensor too and 2 year warranty instead of 1 so for the sake of a tenner think I'll go for this.
This or YI dash cam for £23 from Ali Express?
I'd pay extra just for after sale support, i.e. two year warranty which will be upheld via Amazon fulfilment
