Good price for an ethernet adapter if you are after a USB-C Variant! I don't often use one but now upgrading to USB-C Mac this will be handy vs. using my old USB adapters and a conversion cable. Bonus that it has USB 3.0 ports too!

True... When so much out there still depends on cables, and Apple are trying to push a wireless world! Sure I could wirelessly connect to a screen with an Apple TV / AirPlay but it's a lot more expensive than a dongle from Amazon
Lots of laptops and android phones are moving to USB C. Sadly not the iPhone yet. I’d like a hub with Ethernet, hdmi and 3 USB3 sockets but haven’t seen a cheap one yet.
Would this work if I plugged it into my phone's USB C port?
Is there a dirt cheap adapter to add usb-c to a device?

Yeah, I was looking around too, but settled on the hub that was posted here a few days ago as tbh it's rare I use Ethernet as I have AC1300 wireless at home.
The challenge is that having all that connectivity; in the eyes of these manufacturers becomes a 'dock' - which then seems to be a buzz word to charge a small fortune for such an item! I struggle to see how technically they can be any different other than just marketing / sales hype making them more expensive.
Aukey are usually reliable, I use the hub with 6 usb + 1 high-power and ethernet and its been solid. USB-C isn't ready for prime time yet though so proceed with caution.
