This won't charge devices?
Cant see any use of this. Stick a couple of hard drives in it and it has to share the bandwidth so slows everything down. For a mouse, wifi adaptor, bluetooth or any other device you can plug into it then no real need to get anything other than usb 2.0 which would be this price range without a code

I think some but not all. Also has low output so wouldn't be efficient

I entered the Code and ,it came up at £13.48 for me.

Not that cheap.

No thanks.

This is nonsense, USB 3 can supply 900 mA as a standard and many of these aftermarket devices/hubs will allow above that.
If USB 3.0 could only supply 150mA then you would never be able to spin up and use an external 2.5" USB 3.0 HDD

This one and one with charging ports actually not much different. Actually I personally think they haven't designed it right.
People using all ports and having multiple hhd and charging devices will hardly see any benefit - reason power supply.
You get 2.5A or 3A depending on version you buy. Now what if you want to draw all 900mA from all 7 ports?! You need 7A power supply to be efficient otherwise you will be having random disconnects on some devices...
Why why why always happened when I already bought one.
Thxs OP!
Ordered.
My second one of these.

The first wasn't bought solely for charging, but that's what it has ended up doing the last two months.
I have an old USB3 Aukey hub from 2015 that is used every day at work, and it is still working fine, and charging phones/tablets etc fine.

So would recommend, certainly at these prices...I would always get the charging one.

Thanks for that, I already have this one and was a bit miffed it didnt charge so have the one you linked to coming tomorrow
the annoying thing about Aukey hubs is they have a power button and after a power cut it defaults to off so you always wonder why your keyboard isn't working and have to remember to turn the hub on again.
I am avoiding aukey now. I had a 4 port usb hub for a few years and 2 of the connections are loose one pulled out half into my USB key and I had to remove it with some fine nose pliers.

Hmmmmm.... 12v at 3a = 36w. 5v x 1a (900ma) = 5w x 7 = 35w
mnemonic15/01/2020 18:40

Hmmmmm.... 12v at 3a = 36w. 5v x 1a (900ma) = 5w x 7 = 35w

Whilst it looks correct, in real life it does not work that way. You get 36w of 12v rail which then has to be converted to 5v effectively you get losses in chips, cable, tracks etc. Also fully loaded power supplies got tendency to drop efficiency when they are running at max for longer period shortening lifespan.
Your formula based on 7 port kit with no charging where you actually get smaller power supply 2.5A so effectively:
12v at 2.5a = 30W then you have losses deducted
so as you said 5v x 1a (900ma) = 5w x 7ports = 35w to be precise 5v x 900ma = 4.5w x 7ports = 31.5w required min over all outlets combined.
But you not gonna get that are you with that power supply?

Wit more expensive version its even worse as you have three ports which trying to give out up to 2.4A to hungry devices.

These hubs are calculated or designed with expectation that you never load them full power. You have to be careful if you stick more power hungry device as it might drop others causing data loss. So if you value data you move across this hub make sure you don't overload it
Excellent deal. Thank you OP.
Does this mean I can build a 4
7x4tb raspberry.pi raid array?

Does it work without plugging in the socket? I don’t understand the point of it which system now a days has to few usb slots. I want to use it with my laptop as it has only one usb on the left side and 2 on the right yet I don’t want to use the right hand side once’s as they get on the way of mouse scrolling.

Bought a couple of stuff from AUKEY over the years. Based on my experience, I think their design, reliability and build quality are not in the same league with Anker or UGREEN.
