i like the idea of these and have been thinking of them for a while now.....the 2 year warranty is great as major brands like Oregon Scientific normally only come with 1 year. Ill give heat but I am going to resist temptation again as really don't see what I could do with this that would be of much use other than the info my existing OS weather station gives me

I bought one of these for my partner as a Christmas gift and he was delighted. He assembled and erected it eight days ago and already the anemometer bit has stopped working, it will not rotate. He is very disappointed as this was just the sort of thing he was looking for and I am very disappointed that this Christmas gift lasted such a short time. I know it has a guarantee, but the likelihood of my local lidl having another one any time soon is slim and although I am sure they would give me a refund that is not what I want, I want a working weather station.

problemhouston, I know it’s £30 more, but if you after a “cheep” weather station, get one of these (I have been using one with no issues for 4 years):

Apart from the colour, I think one may have “radio controlled” time setting, where the other doesn’t. They bouth have USB, and can be connected to a PC to download the data. They come with some software to do this, but much better software (that lets you create a web site) is available here (for free):

They are based on (re-badged) Fine Offset stations, and more info / advice on using with the above software can be found here:
