I agree!! It is not fair. It is same as car insurence. Not everybody who is under 25 will roll over his first car!

I was 25 just recently :-)

Is it including 26 year olds?

I don't mean do you get a 26 year old either lol

To be fair the actual email DIDNT say that and neither does the poster. Its misleading and wastes peoples phone bills. Not the OPs fault but STA travels.

Damn .....need to book a ticket to Perth.......too old for this

Statistically one in three young drivers make a claim during their 1st year after passing test, thats why young drivers pay more insurance.

SWEET!

Darn it man i stumbled over the laptop and nearly broke it goign for the phone until i saw the age... frigg .... real stinker this agelimit

Can't you just tell them you are 25 - do they check ?

damn it!!! my birthday is 1st feb, i'll be 26 on that day

Funny, I thought age discrimination was illegal (_;)

Was gutted for a moment as we just booked flights to Perth in April costing nearly £3k for the 3 of us....so I feel a bit better that I am not eligible for this deal lol!

Surprised they get away with the age rule!

How do they know if ur not a student or if ur old?

STA is a company which specializes in providing deals for students which is why they have been to secure these prices from the airline in the first place

aargghhhh im dying to go to australia but dont have 500 squids going spare, and im 25 so would have qualified

does it include 26 year olds does anyone know?

Can't I say 'I'm 25 with a few extra years as backup'?

Anyone know if part-time students qualify by any chance?

Going to speak to them I think. Gunna push my savings but £500 is really cheap!!!

Nope, the lady on the phone was explicit about that. Only full-time. Sorry.

You have to have (or buy before full payment of flights) an International Student Identity Card, which is only issued to full time students, or a Youth Card, which is only available to under 26s.

Yes indeed. It stands for Student Travel Association.

Despite all the crap "£499" the "best deal" was nearly a THOUSAND - in FEBRUARY what a ****** con voted sodding freezing

Did you call STA to make an actual booking?

Booked a flight out to Sydney and back from Brisbane
£499 basic
£20.50 booking fee
£9.60 Youth card
£10.57 Credit card charge

So £539.07 Return from Glasgow via Dubai

You can change your flight back as many times as you like for $50 AUD each time, valid for 1 year

Great buy

Booked a flight out to Sydney and back from Melbourne! March 15-29 from Newcastle
£499 basic + £9 Youth Card

Go to their office and you won't need to pay any extra charges for Credit card or any booking fees. Plus Youth Card is £9 then and not £9.60.

The best deal ever! Australia here I come.

Does anybody know if they charge extra for luggage or how much we're allowed to take?

This does seem really good to pass up on and if it includes a good baggage allowance, then need some serious consideration

those of you that have booked. Did you need to be a full time student?

Baggage allowance is 30 kg with Emirates Airlines. However, we will book a domestic flight from Sydney to Melbourne with Virgin Blue which only allows 23 kg so we in our case can't take more than that.

icstm: you don't if you are under 26. you have to be a full time student - if you are over 26.

I didn't realise that this was only to students or under 26. I thought it was a good general deal. Still a nice deal for those out here who are on that same categories

Went in store to book it today but its sold out. Gutted.
