As shown on Martin Lewis' recent show, this is a breakdown cover package which covers an individual and their other spouse, civil partner, or common law partner (this was added in the last month, just not updated on all of their website), and is linked to the individual, NOT specific vehicles.

Normally £43.31, if you go to Groupon via TopCashback, you get another 12.12% off which brings it down to just over £34 (if my maths is right!).

What is in life, but I did it this evening and was all verified within half an hour from all the websites. Even without the TopCashback bit, it's still £4 cheaper than normal.

Mine is up for renewal next month. Can I lapse and re-set up via the MoneysavingExpert link?
Autoaid have always been good when I've used them. Even better now you don't have to pay and claim back.

No idea, but I didn't put up a MoneySavingExpert link up so have no idea what that is. I just found out about it cos it was on his TV show, then I started to look around at making that price better.

The TopCashback bit looks like it's for new customers but the Groupon thing is for everyone as long as it is still available.

Used them once already they were very good
Autoaid are superb. Best breakdown cover I have ever had. Had a major issue over Christmas just before just before Christmas where we were stranded 400 Miles form home. went so far beyond to make sure we were all sorted
Have to agree with horstachio. Been with AutoAid for many years, but rarely had to use them until recently. Twice in the past month, with two different cars and two different drivers - on the same policy - they were excellent. Very helpful, and called back to check everything was OK after sending out 3rd party rescue. Brilliant - can't recommend them highly enough. Great value, even without the Groupon deal or TCB.

So pleased to hear this. My wife asked me to look into breakdown recovery cos hers ran out and you always wonder what service you're going to get.

The last company she was with left her outside her car as you're supposed to do for safety on the side of the M4 for about 3 hours. She was 7 months pregnant and had her 60 year old mother in the car!! Absolutely disgusted! Just as well it was a mild day!
Bear in mind only useful if the vehicle your driving is 2,500 cc or under.

Will they not tow a larger vehicle?.. like a 3l diesel?.

That refers to motorhomes .Not cars

Better deal as cashback sites have become a joke..

Will they cover a lwb van 3.5tonne 2.5 litres and any restrictions on age of vehicles ?.
I have two vehicles up for renewal included in my car insurance with the rac this might work out cheaper.
Also is this just roadside or recovery as well.

It says if they transport you they will take the car and 5 people to any place in the uk, so not just the nearest garage or some limited mileage from the breakdown or summat.

Was curious so emailed last night and got this back from them already!

"The 2500cc engine size limit applied to vans, pick-ups and motorized caravans, not cars. It is no longer a concern as of December. We are awaiting updated documents."

I got the groupon voucher last year but didn't use it for a couple of months it had an expiry date. Then Autoaid told me i could set it to start up to i think 6 weeks in the future.so waited to expiry date on groupon voucher then used it at autoaid but set it to start 6 weeks later.
I've been using AutoAid/ AutoNational Rescue for many years - highly recommended. Will need to see if I can use this offer to extend my existing membership which doesn't expire until March

been with them for years , used on a couple of occasions , been great

wife broke down Xmas eve , arrived within the hour. With no local garages answering phone they transported the car 30 miles to a friends garage , great service. The only problem was they used a 3rd party recovery company, the guy was miserable , unhelpful and not aware of the cover Autoaid provide.
The groupon voucher Expires 31 Mar 2018 so buy the voucher then wait if you need to.also you can set autoaid to start up to 6 weeks later check that but i'm pretty sure its right i did it last year.So that means you could set it to start any time up to second week in may.
Anyone know of any cover fur commercial vehicles. They exclude business use on a commercial vehicle
Thanks for this.
Bought voucher (via TCB) then contacted AutoAid - they advised that I could redeem the voucher now and pick when I want the policy to start, which I have done - now covered until 23/03/19.
Can somebody please advise if GroupOn Voucher is only for new Autoaid customers?

I already have a policy which is expiry tomorrow so can I buy the voucher and use it?

Cheers

Yes - you can buy and use the voucher, as I did. See my post above.

Thanks Mate.
how does this compare to the AA/RAC etc?
If I went with the auto aid, and broke down, is there anything else that I would need to pay, or is it all overed in the year amount?
Thanks OP the deal is still on with Groupon! and when I went to buy I saw a banner with the code 'DEAL10' that takes £10 off selected deals so that chucked it down to £29.99. I didn't see how long the code lasted but thought i'd mention it in case someone stumbles on this thread.

Wow....how did you do that?

"Please note that no promo codes are valid in conjunction with this deal."

I got mine the other day and didn't see that.

They are better because they use local firms to recover and not a franchise network. Every time had to use them I’ve had someone arrive within 30mins even on a Sunday

None of them do... I thought that was included with rac several years ago when I had a 6 inch fuel hose split, they charged me £30 !
Local motor factors wanted ONE pound, but when. you're desperate you pay up, and the barstewards exploit that
Not sure if this has been covered before but it states that this is only available for "new customers"... i currently have autoaid which expires in 2 weeks, so could I cancel the policy and sign up again? or does this not qualify as a "new customer"....

Alternatively, could just cancel the policy and register the new one under my wife.

Thoughts?

Just let the old policy lapse on the day then order new policy again immediately. Still treated as new customer.
