who wants to post zinio

I'll look into that Zino thing, is it an app? or does it work on the PC?

Yep, the Zinio for Libraries service is free, so is great, but the app is pretty slow in use and flaky. I get Auto Express, National Geographic, Amateur Photographer and Webuser while my wife gets Hello, Homes and Gardens. Womans Own and Cosmopolitan. You create an account through your local council's library link to Zinio using your library card details and download the app to register.

Most libraries are struggling to avoid the axe, never mind having a marketing budget! It's been posted on HUKD quite a few times in recent years, but I tend to remind people whenever I see magazine deals :-)

Both Subsscriptions rec'd and both toolkits arrived for Octane and for Auto Express magazines. However im trying to "manage" my subscription with the subsinfo.co.uk password they send (which incidentally is exactly the same for both magazines - a bit thick of them i think), but the password doesn't work!!!

so i can't cancel the sub online atleast!!!!

The toolkit is probably not even worth that. All in all, £1 is somewhat overpriced for this when you factor in the phone call to book the deal and the inevitable phone call to cancel the subscription.

Why did you open this thread? Work for the competition?

It seems that when clicking on some of the links from the HUKD website it doesn't work (says that due to abuse it has been stopped). However if you cut and paste the URL directly into the browser it works. Obviously they are stopping people coming from this site for some reason.

Why bother even calling to cancel. Just end the direct debit - DONE !

Worked for me through the website.. showed the toolkit as the free gift n everything..

So glad as I was already desperately combing the internet for a cheap and nasty toolkit and 6 issues of a dull car mag..

Thanks OP..

Actually, I don't need an inflator with a gauge built in - who is the … Actually, I don't need an inflator with a gauge built in - who is the "you" to whom you are referring? The gauges on cheap inflators are notoriously inaccurate, personally I would opt for a cheap compressor for emergencies and a standalone tyre pressure gauge for checking your tyre pressure accurately and periodically.I would then use the petrol station forecourt tyre inflators for any serious pumping up of tyres (they're generally free on Shell forecourts, most others you have to pay) and check the pressures afterwards with your standalone gauge.Cheap compressors take an age to even add a few psi and often cannot add pressure above 36 psi or so (should you ever want/need to inflate your tyres that high).

Received first issue this week, and hubby was impressed! Pretty good car mag!

Plus, they send you all the info regarding when the £1 will be taken, and when another payment would be taken if you don't cancel before.

They also send you a username and password so you can cancel via the web at any time.

So I can recommend this to anyone that was worried about how to cancel after the 6 week trial

Perhaps for some but not me. I've done this with a Maxim trial, Gadget … Perhaps for some but not me. I've done this with a Maxim trial, Gadget mag trial, What Hifi trial, FHM sub and Zoo sub, and (touch wood!) have not encountered a single bank charge. Don't get me wrong, I let them have the money they are due (in Auto Express' case, £1) but cancel the DD immediately after payment is taken. The last time I had a bank charge was because I didn't have enough funds in my account to clear a my credit card payment, that was 2/3 years ago and was refunded as it wasn't my fault. If I owe THEM money (i.e. for a mobile phone contract or credit card bill) then that is a different matter and will never cancel the DD.

Exactly right... if you sign up for a 12 month subscription, and cancel your Direct Debit after 3 months, then you can expect to be charged... if you sign up for this, and cancel after the £1 is taken, then that's that - you've fulfilled your obligation.

My Quidco has tracked for this by the way
