Okay, so I'm going away soon and considering my car looks like Ken Block has had a smash around a cow field in it, it could do with a clean. I know these kits are up and down in price anyway and tend to go up the closer it gets to summer, I reckon I'll go for one.

You get quite a bit in there and it comes in a carry case, which if you're anything like me you'll appreciate (unless you are good at keeping things together haha) Anyway, the seller offers quick delivery "Next Day if ordered before 3pm" and there some freebies too.

I did look around a few stores for this, but they all seem to be a fair bit more without the extra bits and bobs and speedy delivery. So yeah...

You'll get:

Bodywork
325ml Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner
325ml Super Resin Polish - Four time winner of Detailing World’s Polish of the Year award
325ml Extra Gloss Protection

Wheels
500ml Clean Wheels
500ml Instant Tyre Dressing
300ml Wheel Protector - Recommended & Commended in the 2015 & 2016 Auto Express wheel sealant test group

Interior
500ml Interior Shampoo
500ml Fast Glass - Commended in 2015 Auto Express product awards
500ml Vinyl & Rubber Care

Accessories
Sponge
Hi-Tech Finishing Cloth
Hi-Tech Microfibre Drying Towel

x 2 car care samples
x 2 AUTOGLYM hanging air fresheners

Get out and don't you ever come back. ALL MEN need to be out there on a sunny day applying the Extra Gloss protector and then spending 6 hours removing it when it sets like bell-metal

Lot of kit for the money, and good value if it's the real Macoy. My son has done the official Autoglym training and he reckons it's the best on the market -economical too as you don't use as much product as the cheaper alternatives. One tip he gave me...When making up a solution of shampoo make about a tenth of what you think you need..give the car a good rinse before shampooing then wash and rinse in sections, finishing off with a good all over rinse. Apparently we all make up too much shampoo and throw money down the drain. It seems to work for me.

Megs, poorboys, gyeon, gtechniq.

Used to use solely auto Glym but now don't use any of their products.
Am I missing what makes this a good deal? Seems to be the average online price if you discount halfords.
Meguiars. I was paying less than halfords on Amazon uk but when I was in Florida recently the stuff was durt cheap so brought loads of stuff back. I find it does my tornado red gtd a treat so no longer using autoglym but each to their own

Not carnuba?
As a few people are saying, there are lots of other good products out there; Megs, Poor Boys, Dodojuice, Bilt Hamber Chemical Guys etc. I still have a few AG products that I always go back to though. Fast Glass and Super Resin Polish being the main ones.
The price seems fairly average too, these are not big bottles of product.

Not voted.

The Super Resin polish is useful for older cars with swirls. The rest of their products are pretty meidocre

Spot on. Don't forget Zaino (z2) with a spritz of Z8 - unbeatable imo

Super resin polish is a polyamide filler. It works on swirls by filling them.

After a few washes, rain etc the swirls come right back as the product washes out.

Swirl removal by hand is a pain. With a DA polisher, clay bar, etc done properly, you'll get a decent result.

I've also stopped using AG, as other products for similar money perform far better.

3M polishes are great, DoDo juice waxes are decent, Gtechniq sealants are probably the best value out there.

We got a kit like this with our Audi for free. It's still sat in my garage untouched.
Decent kit for someone who's just starting car cleaning, but as others have said there are a lot better products out there, myself I use a lot of Auto Finesse stuff.

Also with car cleaning a lot of people make the mistake of using one bucket, biggest tip of all is use two, one with your washing solution and have a second bucket to rinse your wash mitt after every panel.
I use a combination of Autoglym and Meguires,I've tried many other cleaning products and can't say any of the others were noticeably better.

I take my Mitsubishi Evo x to many car shows each year and can't say I've ever had anyone say it looked any better using any other rival products.Normally I will spend 2 days or more cleaning the car ready for a show, normally for it to then rain on the way up there, enough to ruin all the hard work

IMO the effort put into to doing the job and the way you do it is more important than one product over another. As already said, using the 2 bucket method can save you a massive amount of wear on your paintwork and using the best shampoo in the world with one bucket will be far worse over time than using a cheap shampoo with the 2 bucket method.

Anybody else use sonax extreme protect and shine
Just bought some to try and keep the industrious dirt off that my car gets exposed to

If rain ruins it, use Gtechniq sealant.

a) It's far better than Megs and AG
b) It'll repel water perfectly, and any dirt will be dead easy to remove with a quick detailer and microfibre

Honestly - Megs and AG are better than Turtlewax et al, but miles behind the more specialist stuff, which itself isn't that much more for how long it lasts.Have a look for yourself - I'm sure anyone will agree this is impressive stuff.

How hard is it to prepare for application the GTECH stuff?

Clean and a good claybar should be ample. And a second clean!
