Hmm... "Call Recorder - ACR" by NLL (10 million downloads - Playstore link) is the one I use. Also referred to as ACR. This looks like an app that's attempting to use the same name. Gotta be careful these days with the amount of malware people state is in the play store. Of course this could be legitimate, but concerned that they are using the popularity of the other app to trick people into downloading.

Edit: The developer is called "Best Android Tool" to make it appear as though it's been rated highly in the title when shown in the play app.

All a bit suspicious?

This is the 'Pro' version of the same, therefore it should be better.

No, it isn't. It's made by a totally different "company" and trying to cash in on the name.

Here is the link for the pro acr

I use the original ACR . This one is different and does indeed appear to be trying to lure people...

I use the free version & highly recommend it - this is a no brainer!
Does it record skype calls?
Wants access to EVERYTHING on your phone. **** that.

It will try to record non-mobile calls with no guarantees I think.
And by law you have to say your recording calls🤐

The one you should app be using is by "Appliqato" which is just called "Call Recorder" all the functions actually work unlike this one. My main need was for recording clearly when connected to a Bluetooth headset as well as on normal call and it does that perfectly.

It has been a while since I looked into it, but the law is a little grey when it comes to this. There are conflicting UK and EU laws.

I don't think there is an issue for personal use. It gets a bit confusing for business, in the UK a business can techniocally record calls without announcing it but they can only use it internally. If they plan to pass it onto any 3rd party for whatever reason they need to let you know

These guys get it. I would be a bit suspicious of this rip-off, especially with what the app might try to do with your data afterwards!

Not true.
Has someone stolen this from my original post on Free Voice apps ? Perhaps should have posted separately my self.

Actually not... apparently there is some strange loophole which says only one party has to know the call is being recorded.

I think ACR may stand for 'Automatic Call Recorder' There are loads of these on play store and as I have said on a previous thread it is all very confusing. This one is rated slightly better than the one you have quoted .1% Not as many downloads as the free one , obviously but if this one stays free you never know.

Could also be a call blocker as I haven't had any calls since I installed it last night

That is true. I use the one from NLL too...this one seems to be using similar name bit isn't the one I have been using. I liked it a lot and purchased it few years ago and have never looked back.

New legislation means you no longer have to say this
My Redmi has a pre installed call recorder and every night it burps my calls back to Beijing 😁

This is not by the same developer. Therefore it cannot be the pro version of the real ACR app.
This "deal" should be removed as it's pretty dodgy.
Bearing in mind there are loads of Auto recording apps out there - why is this one dodgy just because its free at the moment and has an icon that looks similar to another app ????

What's the restrictions like for the free model?
This app only has 10,000-50,000 downloads compared to the 10-50 million download of the 'real' app. I most certainly will not be downloading this to my phone. Although it would be interesting to install it on a spare and monitor to see what data is being sent back to Vietnam...

Agreed
As stated before about recording phone calls and telling people..

Are you allowed to record phone calls UK?
Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), it is not illegal for individuals to tape conversations provided the recording is for their own use. Recording or monitoring is only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication are made available to a third party.13 Mar 2006

and:-

And I agree with others, this looks like they are trying to make out they are the same developer that created ACR..

I've had problems with all the Call record apps in Android 7. Main problem not recording the other party.I tried a new app last week called Boldbeast Recorder which works but you have to press a small icon on the call screen to start. The paid for app (£8-99) is like these ones and starts recording automatically.

And what's the advantage of this vs other free apps that do the same job .
leechris825 h, 58 m ago

Simply not true as a consumer recording calls for your own use - you have always been exempt from RIPA and similar laws.
leechris826 h, 2 m ago

No you don't. You as an individual can record anything you want on your own phone since you own it.
It's Company's not individuals that need to inform people they are being recorded.

So its changed then, thanks letting me know as several have quoted my comment

Thanks, never so much my comment been quoted , mixed views on this , seems like a big not 100% sure to most.
If you need a recording just ask the Government for that certain recording that you need

33415205-Jokdq.jpg
I've got the paid for version of the original.

I didn't need the features, but it seemed very fair when the free version saved me hundreds of pounds and a CCJ.

Despite having moved phones a couple of times, I was pleased to find I had backed up the original call recordings.

So when one of the credit rating sites notified me I had a CCJ at an old address thanks to a DCA connected to EE - despite them having no knowledge of the call where they clearly agreed to cancel the debt because I did not owe it (thanks to their not recording a cancellation in the first place) - it was all cancelled, CCJ removed and hounds called off when I was able to provide them the audio recording of that call.

Before I dug out the recording they were having none of it at all - no records of anything other than that I owed them money.

I think everyone that is planning on installing the "original app " do a Google search first as there have been security concerns about it .

Another Voice Recorder(AVR) has been about for years and is Free, so it's only logical it will have many more downloads. What are the in app purchases on this? Says they cost up-to £3.95. Also how many adverts are on it? The Automatic Voice Recorder (AVR) Pro has no adverts. I've only been using it a day but it recorded all my calls ok and hasn't used any data.Don't knock it until you've tried it is my motto.
