sounds great, but has anyone got one or tried one, and can say how good it is? does it leave bits, or does it struggle with large or small potatoes?
We got one very similar but diff brand,we use mainly for new potatoes and there great, but large old potatoes not as effective and really make the machine rock and roll lol, overall a great machine for new potatoes imo
Similar products are available all of which mostly get poor reviews, so I think I'll give it the pass.
We have the Kenwood At444 potato/ root veg peeler attachment for our Kenwood Chef which works on the same principle (abrasion, not slicing). Our K Chef has a 1400w motor and takes a couple of minutes and does about a similar quantity to this. It mostly powers through the process but on the odd occasion when its near capacity, even our 1400w motor can struggle and rock a bit, so I'd expect a 500w? motor to have a bit of a task on its hands at full pelt. That said, its a cracking price compared to other places selling it, but I'd say not to expect too much or work it too hard by filling it full. Hot because of the price, from me.

I think its this one

Not sure what the difference is though, but the one you listed looks like it actually grates the skin off, but from reviews of the link I've posted that one uses abrasion. Cant tell which it is for sure.
I'd like to see that flimsy bit of plastic peeling a load of 1kg of potatoes. Should make a funny Youtube video.

Also is peeling potatoes by hand that hard that we need a machine? It doesn't take much longer than 2 minutes either.

spot on! it would take longer to get this out the back of the cupboard and set it up. Then you have to wash it up after!

lol - thought that myself till we bought one. Wish I'd done so years ago. If you're peeling for only one or two or dont mind peeling spuds then its not worth buying one (this or any one), but when you're doing a sunday lunch for a family and throw your spuds in one of these, it roughens them up a bit so when you roast them, they taste and feel far better than peeled ones. Sounds daft but true. Free's up time and is useful when making large potato meals like potato salads, mash, shepherds pie etc. Just needs a quick rinse afterwards. Wouldnt go back to peeler now unless I had only a few to peel.
